In Between the Rain

Managed to get out for a late morning walk in between rain showers.

I try to check on the neighborhood kitties that I feed at least once a day; and sometimes spend a little time with the ones that want love as much as (or more than) food.

A peek of blue sky and the sun came out.
I saw ducks waddling along, a cat & chicken sharing food and sunflowers in bloom.
Shortly after I got back home, it started raining again.
Made myself a bowl of garlicky mashed potatoes and roasted brussel sprouts for lunch (couldn't even force myself to swallow them as a kid, but now I love them).

Hope all is well where you are.
Sending a little love your way.
Have a wonderful Wednesday!

I love Brussel sprouts too but rarely ever get them as Jim hates them and I pretty much just make what he and Dad will eat (since I also provide Dad's daily dinners). Sunflowers are lovely - of course none of that here now. It was barely 20 degrees this morning when I went out for my early morning run but I always feel better after an hour of brisk exercise/cardio in the fresh air, even if the air is so cold initially, it freezes my lungs. By the time I'm coming back in the sun, despite the temp, I'm always hot and sweaty so it feels good. :)

Well, gotta get going with the rest of my day here - a lot to accomplish. Have a good remainder of the week and nice to read your blog updates.

Dearest Tammy,
Was it meant to be a video, the first image? Looks like with the usual start button in the center but it does not work...
How sad this is to encounter that many abandoned kittens and sure they are looking even more for love than anything else. Hard to imagine for us!
We had frost past night and it makes you happy to see all fur babies are cozy and warm inside! Full belly and being loved and cuddled.
Hugs,
Mariette

PS Always have loved Brussels sprouts, Dad grew them for wintertime to sent to auction...

Sounds like a lovely walk, I don't like Brussel sprouts, apparently the taste is different now not as bitter as they were when I was a child but I still can't bring myself to eat them.

Awwwwww...the little kitty you are petting looks a lot like our Giroux. I'm so glad you give the "unwanteds" a bit of love and food.

Nice to see you! Glad you are able to get out and about. I know you love your walks. Those kitties probably look forward to you. Did I tell you about my husbands shop cat? Our neighbor 2 doors down has a gray tabby, which we call Tabby...lol Well, he adores my husband and now spends most of his time in the shop. He goes home now and then but I think he likes the quietness of just my husband than the house full of kids and other pets. Funny what cats chose to do or who to love. :) Take care, Kit

It’s been a bit cold and windy not even Bru wants to go for his daily walk. I’m hoping we get some snow this winter. I love Brussel sprouts, so yummy!

I'm glad you were able to get out between rain showers and fed and love on the kitties. I'm so glad they have you. Your lunch looks delicious. I have always really liked brussels spouts, unfortunately they don't like me.
I have been trying to go out and walk with Chloe every day for a long walk, more than the usual to the dog park to "go" walk. But the snow we had on Monday has turned to ice and so I'm not walking outside anymore than I have to. The RV doesn't leave much room to exercise. At the house when it was icy I would just walk "laps," one end to the other and up and down the stairs.
Blessings,
Betsy

You are such an angel to feed and give love to those wild kitties. I'm wondering if you'll adopt one now? You'd have your pick. We have a new cat visiting our barn and garage by the chicken house.. we are happy to have him as the chicken food entices rodents. This is a big guy. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Tammy - I can easily imagine you dancing among the raindrops, although it seems you timed your walk perfectly this time! I am a huge fan of brussel sprouts, although you would have to pick the bacon out of the ones my hubby makes!
