Sweet Surprise

When we returned from Ohio, I had an envelope waiting for me from the lovely Gloria over at Crochet Galore.

Her July crocheted doily entitled "summer".

Such a sweet surprise. Thanks Glor! She is always up to something fun with crochet so pop over to her blog and say hi. Best wishes to one and all, Tammy

Highlights from Ohio

Touring a Victorian House in Millersburg OH (no photos allowed inside).

Antique and thrift shopping.

These books are from 1899 and 1901.

Board games with Zack as the host (and realizing we are not Smarter than a Fifth Grader sometimes).

My Aunt Gay driving us through farmland and cornfields as me and Aunt Elaine tried to get the best photo we could of a hot air balloon overhead.

And then getting back to my uncle's place where we were able to get a close-up of a miniature version of the same thing.

Uncle Danny's homemade pumpkin pie with fresh pumpkin.

Relaxing on the front porch watching the world go by.

Family time ... mom, Aunt Elaine and their sister Kathy. My uncle has the most gorgeous flowers on his front porch.

Sunsets at the end of the day.

We are back in Michigan and staying put for at least the next week. Hope everyone is having a great week. Peace & blessings, Tammy

Where Am I?

We had a great time in Upstate NY.

This is our brood minus one who was already ahead on the trail.

We hiked Watkins Glen which is a beautiful gorge.

The area was full of twists and turns and lots of stairs.

From NY to Michigan on Thursday and from Michigan to Ohio on Friday. Zack says I am Superwoman for doing all this driving. I guess the cop didn't think that when he gave me a speeding ticket. :/ Oh well!

Now we are in OH visiting my mom.

My Aunt Elaine is along for this trip.

Wednesday we will be on the road again back to Michigan. And this time, I will not follow the flow of traffic. I will stop and smell the roses along the way. :) Peace & Blessings, Tammy

Music in the Park

A local park in Grand Haven is the stage for free music concerts every Wednesday. We attended last week with my cousin and friends.

There was a 10th grade group doing pop.

8th grade fiddlers.

A rapper who did a tribute to Michael Jackson.

And a female singer/guitarist whose voice was out of this world.

This week there will be blues music but we are still in Upstate NY so will miss it. Hope your day is filled with the sweet sounds of summer. Best wishes, Tammy

Summer blessings

We have now been in the States for 3 weeks. Our first night in the Chicago area, this was what we were blessed to see as the sun began to set.

Isn't God's watercolor beautiful?

We're Off

Today we leave for Upstate New York. My cousin Gwen is along for the ride. We are meeting up with friends from Kuwait and San Antonio.

This is a photo of the 4 of us last year. We had a great time and are looking forward to meeting up again.

I've prepared some posts ahead of time. Thanks goes to my Aunt Elaine for showing me how to do that. Wishing you all many blessings, Tammy

Lawn Games

Summer evenings mean time spent outdoors. Last nite we played many games of lawn bowling.

And then the kids played a game of washers.

Simple summer fun!

Hope you are finding time for fun and games with friends and family. Peace and blessings, Tammy

Corbin, Kentucky

During our road trip we made a pit stop at the site of Col Sanders first cafe.

Filled with artifacts and memorabilia from the early days of KFC.

As it appeared in the 1940's.

Me and the Colonel.

Spreading good will.

It is now a museum on the National Register of Historical Places.

Hope you are having a great day! Peace & blessings, Tammy
