Daily December

 Hello Friends!

Here we are again, welcoming a new month -- the last month of this very chaotic and challenging year.

I hope you are well.

For the first time since July, I had a friend come to visit (only my second time to see anyone since all this corona craziness started in March).  My friend, Aruna, is the one I used to have weekly art dates with and unfortunately she will be leaving Kuwait for good at the end of February.  Today she brought me this handpainted wood piece (along with some other gifts).  I will definitely be very sad to see her go.

February 15th was our last crafty meet-up with Kuwait Crafters and we are all missing the companionship and inspiration shared by the group.

It's been raining here a lot the past several days.  I bought yarn for the first time since last year and started a traditional granny square blanket.
The rhythm of going round and round is like a meditation.
I also finally made this cute little granny square cat, a pattern that I saved from an Instagram post in January of 2019.
This is Tiggy, one of the cats I feed on my daily walks. He is the sweetest, but loves to walk between my legs the entire length of the street, so instead of a few minutes get to the end of the block, it takes me 10-15 minutes.  Someone mentioned he looks like a Maine Coon.  So many cats are being abandoned now which is very overwhelming, disheartening and maddening to see.

You may have noticed that the title of this post is Daily December. I've been such a bad blogger this year, I decided that blogging every day this month might be a very good thing to aim for.

Thanks for stopping by.
Take care!
Happy December!

So great to see your here Tammy, and to see you are staying busy with your creative ideas, and kitties!!
Crochet is one thing I've never really mastered - I'm better just knitting! I have decided to try some counted cross stitch which I've not done in years, ever since my close up eyesight got poor. So, I've just purchased a large magnifier you can hang around neck - hoping that will help! This getting old stuff is really tough -
plus with all the other current things I'm starting to get a bit depressed some days!

Anyway, chin up, and stay well dear.

Hi Tammy! I'll look forward to your daily posts. I did it every day in November and some days were really HARD!
Your granny blanket is beautiful. I love the rhythm of grannies too.
I'm sorry about your cat problem. I want another kitty so much but sweet Piper is off the charts allergic to them, so I guess it's out for now if I want her to come visit.
Tyg is a beautiful cat. I would want to take them all home so I can imagine how frustrating it is for an animal lover like you.
Take care my friend. See you tomorrow. (Your friends gift is lovely too.)
Blessings,
Betsy

What a lovely gift from your friend so sad that she's leaving. Lovely yarn, granny squares are the best I always go back to those and it's the first thing I teach in my crochet class. Good luck with the daily blogging during December, I did think about doing the same but I find it difficult to blog once a week never mind everyday. I look forward to your posts. X

Dearest Tammy,
It is a very odd year indeed. So happy that I started writing our book during COVID and being done end of August. That time at least passed very fast; which is good.
Still busy with writing stories for Pieter, before we're running out of time entirely. Biking in-between, weather permitting. Hate not being able to book anything for an escape... No fun as most hotels don't even serve breakfast.
Your kitty photos are heartbreaking, with the story that is. Tiggy, what a joy to read of another named that way. Our Tiggy Tiger girl is the most feisty, she is tiny but oh so fast and clever. https://mariettesbacktobasics.blogspot.com/2017/08/tiggy-dreaming-of-and-almost-tasting.html
Finally, after almost 5 weeks (tomorrow...) I'm organizing all of Barty's final photos and short videos. At least he lived a sheltered and happy life and he gave so much. If only more people would be aware of how their lives get impacted by such sweet and loyal critters. One day, when meeting their final Judge, they will have to pay for their neglect and/or cruelty!
Love your kitty motive.
Yes, it is heart breaking to see a dear friend leave for good. May both of you be strong enough to manage.
Big hugs,
Mariette

I’m so glad I saw your post today. I’m going to try blogging everyday as well. My knit group has been meeting on zoom. I’m glad we can do that but I do miss the face to face meetings. Maybe early summer things will be better. There was a surge of adoptions in our area during quarantine now the shelters are seeing the animals returned. I’m glad you do what you can for the animals in your area. It is heartbreaking. See you tomorrow.

Hi Tammy. Oh that kitty loves you so much. Your friend's painted wood piece is lovely, and how sad she is moving away. My friend I had tea or coffee with once a week moved away in March right after the pandemic began. It is so sad to have friends leave!

It's sad that Aruna will be leaving permanently as I know how much you enjoyed the art dates you shared together.

Hopefully, the Kuwait Crafters will start up in 2021 when the Corona threat is almost gone.

You already know I love that wool from your Instagram...very beachy and, of course, I love the kitty square too. Adorable!

Tiggy is beautiful! My heart feels sad for all the abandoned cats there. Do you get many abandoned dogs too? It makes me mad too and also breaks my heart. :'(

I'll look forward to seeing more posts from you this month. I posted daily for November and I hope it has kick-started me into a more regular blogging routine.

Happy December to you!

I love the granny square kitty, what a sweet design. And how nice to visit with a friend, the things we used to take for granted... but how can it be December already? Hugs.

Hello Tammy,
It's really something how this year has passed for people all over the world not visiting with friends and family very much. I have felt particularly blue about the virus this past week, too. I'm so very tired of it. But we must make the best of our days. Your granny square blanket is lovely. And what a sweet cat face!
I'll look forward to your daily posts.

Nice to read your post and see your photos. Glad you had your visit with your friends. We have hosted visits with friends and family all throughout this year, but always with precautions and social distancing for the most part depending on who it is and how sheltered of a life they live. It hasn't been a bad year for us all things considered but yes, I'll be glad for Covid to be a thing of the past some day, some year.
Hope you have a wonderful December,
Linda

The kitty block is so cute.

It makes me so sad to read about abandoned kitties. Glad you are there to give them a little bright spot in the day.

Tammy - I am sorry to hear that Aruna is leaving. I have also missed my Munch and Make sessions, and they were not nearly as well-attended as yours! Tiggy looks adorable - our son would really like to get a Maine Coon once he settles down on his own!
