Marveling and Making

I had a different creative project in mind for today, but after a walk to the park, I decided to crochet a little nest.

I found a tiny, precious fledgling that sadly had fallen to the sidewalk so dug a hole nearby to bury it.  And then when I was cleaning up some trash along the fence, I found a bird's nest on the ground.  I'm not sure the pictures show just how wonderfully woven it is with bits of nature and (unfortunately) some plastic, too.  Such incredible work those little birdies can do.

I put some pretty painted eggs in my nest.

And also used it to collect some tiny potatoes that grew from sprouted spuds.
Have a marvelous Monday.

Sorry for finding the little fledgling...but the nest is a wonder!
The potatoes are going to be delicious!

Dearest Tammy,
Oh such fledgelings fallen out of their nest or maybe pushed out by the bigger cuckoo fledgelings that were disposed by their parents in oftentimes tiny birds' nest. SAD!
Yes your images showed the intricate and artful woven birds nest.
Your crocheted nest with the colorful eggs is pretty and also the little potatoes, homegrown.
Hugs,
Mariette

Nice of you to bury that little baby bird. I agree, bird nests are amazing. How do they do that without any fingers? Loved your crocheted nest with the pretty eggs.

I'm always amazed at the intricate nests that birds make. They use everything they can find too. I used to hang little bits of yarn in the bushes and trees in our yard when the kids were little. They loved helping the birds. The poor little fledgling. You have such a sweet and kind heart to bury the little thing.
Your nest is beautiful and perfect for those hand painted eggs.
Blessings,
Betsy

So sad that the little fledgling didn't survive. I would have buried her too. Your woven nest turned out lovely and such a nice way to honour the birds.
