Kuwait Water Towers
During the summer and in fact, most of the year, there's only two kinds of weather here: hot and sunny or hot and dusty. Although dust does help in bringing down the temps a bit, it's not great for the environment.
Water is important for daily function; even moreso when temperatures are so high. One of our teachers who recently had a baby needed to be treated for dehydration. At certain times and under certain conditions, our need for water is even greater.
I've placed a bowl out on one balcony; but even a leaky air conditioning unit becomes a little watering spot for our feathered friends.
Jingles decided she couldn't come back inside for a drink of water. She stuck her head right inside the container I use for watering plants. I make sure there are bowls of water set out downstairs every day for the street cats.
I hope to make people realize how totally helpless animals are, how dependent on us, trusting as a child must that we will be kind and take care of their needs.

Thanks for all your kind comments on the loss of Sweet Kitty. I cried a river of tears before the day was done and went to bed early with a headache.
Hope you're having a great day. Best wishes and blessings, Tammy

HEY TAMMY, HOPE YOU ARE FEELING BETTER, IT WILL TAKE A WHILE, BUT YOU ARE SUCH A GREAT PERSON WITH ANIMALS. IT IS A SHAME HOW SOME ANIMALS HAVE TO SUFFER FROM SOME PEOPLE WHO DON'T CARE.
WE ARE HAVING HOT, LOTS OF HUMIDITY, AND THUNDER STORMS. YOUR TEMPS ARE SO DIFFERENT THEN OURS.
HAVE A GREAT DAY, RIZZI
It's been really hot here too and SO dry. Everything is so brittle and we really need some rain!
I LOVE those water towers!
Love,
LuLu~*xoxo
It seems that people who love animals never feel they're doing enough and people who don't don't care at all. I'm glad to have you for a friend. You have a good heart Tammy. I could not bear that heat!! Diane
I just commented on your prior post. Please don't think you didn't do enough. So many people there where you live, and all over the world, don't care enough. And the special souls, like you, can't do it all. Please know, my sweet friend, that you just can't do it all. No matter how much you want to. You did what you could, and gave that cat some quality of life that otherwise, would not have been given. At least give yourself that.
Brenda
Thanks for your visit!
I am so sorry to learn about Sweet Kitty. Scrolling though your blog, there sure are a lot of street cats. Heartbreaking.
Carol
WOW, it gets hot there....at least the humidity is low which helps a tad. My heart goes out to the poor animals who must suffer terribly in those conditions, especially if they live in areas where people don't give them a second thought. You are such a blessing for the animals, Tammy...keep up the wonderful job you do for them.
Love,
Serena xo
Oh Tammy I am so sorry about your sweet kitty! I know how hard that is. I was so sad when last year our Ashes didn't come home. I know that it is so hard for a ferrel cat to survive very long. But I mourned for so long over him.
I think your water towers are so pretty there. Ours is just a regular cement tower. These almost look festive!
hugs from here...
Hi there, thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. I love finding new friends that way! I'm bookmarking your blog.
I live in cool, moist, Oregon.. in fact it just sprinkled a bit outside so we're having a nice day inside watching HGTV.. LOL
Sorry about the kitty.. :-(
Hugs, Teresa
Hi Tammy,
So sorry to hear of your sweet kitty, and you did wonders for her, by feeding and caring for her. I hope you feel better.
Those temperatures are hot 48C and hope you manage to stay cool. Love the pretty water tanks.
Have a happy week
Hugs
Carolyn
Tammy, You asked about our kitty. He just quit eating and then we noticed a little blood on his lip. Took him to the vet immediately and we had to have him put to sleep. Don't remember it affecting his voice but he never was a very vocal cat like some.
Hope you are feeling better. Losing our animals is so hard. Everytime we lose a pet, we say we aren't getting another but eventually we do. At present we only have our little rescue dog "Cody". He seems happy to be the only family pet.
Ha! Jingles is one smart cat, Tammy. After that head dunk, bet he was a cool cat, too! Great shot. Susan
Those stats of yours don't look very accurate. It has been months since we had a low temperature of 18C, and we are very easily has high as the 51C you had earlier this month. Hope that leads to a lot of inside time for you with lots of crafting time included.
It makes me happy to see the haven you create for your feathered friends!!
Love ya,
Renee
Hoping you are feeling better today Tammy, have a great week!
I'm sorry yesterday was a tough day but look at all the creatures you provide for! I love that you have water out for the street cats and that the birds know they can find water at your home. I don't know how animals survive in the wild over there!
It never ceases to amaze me how varied weather is around the globe. Some with 4 seasons, some with two, some with what it seems one type of weather. I complain a lot about rain, but I realize how important it is when we don't get as much as we should. We are in rainy season, but it hasn't rained as much. At least as much as it did last year, when we even had catastrophes of great magnitude only a few days into the season. I hope you can get at least some rain! Even the mildest one is always appreciated, right?
have a good day!
So sorry to hear about your kitty. We lost ours about a month ago, so I understand. Hope you are feeling better. ~Karen
Having my own (extremely pampered) cat, hearing about those street cats breaks my heart. They're lucky to have you doing what you can. Good luck.
