A New Day

Welcome every morning with a smile. Look on the new day as another special gift from your Creator, another golden opportunity to complete what you were unable to finish yesterday. Be a self-starter. Let your first hour set the theme of success and positive action that is certain to echo through your entire day. Today will never happen again. Don't waste it with a false start or no start at all. You were not born to fail. Og Mandino

We are grateful that back to school was only a 4-day week. It's been a bit of a shock to wake up before the sun these past four days. The above photo was taken at 6:25 am. I've never been much of a morning person. And the older I get, I'm not much of a night owl either. Truth is, I need my beauty sleep or I'm a bear.

Have a great day! Friendship blessings, Tammy

Love the quote. It is so true. I know what you mean about not being a early morning person. Since I retired I love to get up whenever. My DH informed me that the breakfast for the National Championship Game is at 8:00 in Scottsdale on Saturday. Hope I can get up, dressed, and be there on time. It's my first time to attend the breakfast sponsored the Association of Christian Athletes. DH has attended before.

Hi Tammy,
The mornings are very dark here too, however we are past our shortest day and already I see and hear signs of spring approaching, daffodils showing shoots and the birds singing.
Life is good.
Smiles,Angela.

That Og Mandino always has great words of encouragement! :o)
I am a morning person. No doubt about it!, but it is hard to get up when it is still so dark outside! It is happening also here in Guatemala, and probably will continue to be like that until around April. But good and positive thoughts help! "A sunny day ahead!" I say to myself, and with that in mind, up I go :o)
have a great day!!

Dearest Tammy,

Oh, I hope you were not a 'bear' passenger on the yacht (on my blog!). Thanks for your lovely comment and now its weekend; RELAX!
In Indonesia we got up at 5:00 AM for six days a week to start our training/teaching... Once in such a tropical rut, it works but at the moment I love the warmth of my goose down duvet around that time...

Love,

Thank you for the kind comments on my blog when you visited. I appreciated your quote on today's post. It is so true that the way we start each day sets the tone for the rest of the day. I needed to read that this morning.

I like the quote, Tammy!

I guess I'm a morning person now, although it's dark (4:00AM) when I get up.

Have a lovely day my friend!

Lovely image, Tammy. I go to bed late and get up early reluctantly. Once out of bed I am good but getting out of bed is a booger for me. I love the warmth and the dreaming. =)
Have a blessed day, friend.

Oh happy day to you, Tammy! :)

Thankfully, here, daughter and I only had a 3-day work/school week, so it's easily almost over. Not too bad. Next week will be long, but we have a 3-day holiday weekend to look forward to then, so all in all, January flies by.

I am by all counts, a night owl. My Mom, who is 80 is still like that as well. :) I would much prefer to stay up past midnight each day and sleep in late in the morning, and these are my plans for my retirement years.... which are not that far off now for me, Lord willing.

My husband is the opposite. He falls asleep early and gets up early, even on weekends. :P

NICE QUOTE, SO TRUE. LIFE IS SHORT. ENJOY IT WHILE YOU CAN, AND TREAT EACH DAY AS A GIFT. I AM UP AND DRESSED BY 8:00 O'CLOCK, BUT EARLY TO BED,BUT WAKE UP AT 1 OR 2 AND I WATCH TV IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. WHAT'S A GIRL TO DO AT 71 YRS. :) RIZZI

I am right there with you. Getting back up at 5AM this week to get boys out the door to school was a rude awakening after being able to sleep in a bit while they were on break. I used to be a morning person, but not so much now. As for a night person, I usually turn in to a pumpkin before 10PM. I need my sleep too...
