Planting

The plant souk is an area where a strip of nurseries for indoor and outdoor plants can be found.

We go to Orchid Nurseries to buy plants. The guys that work there know us and always make us a deal on our purchases.

Buying plants when it is hot outside is one thing.

But repotting and planting when the temperature is 110 outside is not such a good idea.

I worked from 9 am until noon and had to stop because I literally felt sick. Took a cold shower, ate a little something and then laid down for an hour. It's looking greener out there which makes me happy. Sure hope everything can survive this incessant heat.

Sending prayers and blessings to those in PA and NY affected by flooding and those in TX fighting wildfires. Best wishes to all, Tammy

Dearest Tammy,

Amazing that you still have a souk like a nursery for plants. It will be tough!

We are in the low 70's today but sunny. Had rain this a.m. as if we need more rain!! By the end of the week we will feel Mother Nature's Autumn as the temps are to be the highs of 55!! Burrrrr!!
Have a Great Weekend!

It is hard when you want to get out to plant and enjoy the garden and it is so hot. The humidity here was awful, but this year we did get some good evening showers which at least kept the grass green this summer!
Hopefully you'll have some cooler temps soon!

I love growing things ,too. I live in Texas and this year has made me sad. The heat killed almost everything I planted and because it has not rain since June here .I am very late planting my fall garden.
Strange weather we are having.
Smiles,Dottie

Hi Tammy,

Plants always put life into an area. I agree though about the temperatures. I guess the plants over there are acclimated to the high temps.

I realized I haven't been by to see you. So here I am. {giggles} I hope you are having a fun weekend.

Come see me when you have the time,
Steph ♥

Your morning's efforts certainly have the patio looking beautiful! Sorry to hear the heat made you feel sick though. With spring here now, I'm getting into the gardening mood....I need to get out and rid the lawn of weeds first.

Try to stay cool in that dreadful heat,

Love,
Serena xo

Heat makes me ill, too. Glad you came inside and layed down.....ech.

BUT, the plants look nice. I am assuming that because they are native, they should do ok in that heat. I can't imagine....I'd be a puddle.

I won't tell you that we went for a hike today and it was 53 degrees up on the mountain and I was wearing long pants and a fleece. That would be mean of me to, so I won't. (silly)

Hugs and stay cool.

Hi Tammy,

I don't know how anything survives in those temps. Things here have rebounded after severl storms which brought much needed rain and cooler temperatures.

The voles are back though....

Take care of yourself in the heat!

So cool that you go to a plant souk - that sounds so exotic. Your garden looks wonderful. I bet it is a challenge to garden in such heat XOL

Hope this finds you feeling better. Love all of the plants and I hope they cheer you constantly. Here in Texas, the wildfires are a major threat and the lack of rain is worse. Thank you for your prayers. blessings,Kathleen

The plant souk looks so nice and colorful. We have a plant souk here too, but somehow yours looks better. I am glad to see you came home with some nice color.
Hope you are feeling better after getting so overheated. It is crazy that it is still so hot here. Texas was hot, but this is a totally different level of heat. I know you will stay inside as much as possible.
The porch looks lovely!!

Love,
Renee
