Saturday Success and Gathering Gifts

Well, I did it! I knew if I waited for hubby to decide he was ready to put the shelf together, it might not get done for another week or longer. So I figure if you want something done, do it yourself. And I did!

There are still some things to fix in the kids room, painting to be done, curtains to be made. But yesterday's organizing has put me on the right track.

Up and at 'em early this morning I made a banana cake.
1-1/2 bananas mashed, one egg, 1/4 cup of canola oil and a TBS of water. Mix in 1 cup of self rising flour, 1/2 tsp baking soda and 1/2 cup of sugar.

Always bakes up perfectly and pops right out of the pan. I bought a pretty plate to put it on as I am going to visit a friend.

I also put together a few other gifts. Her home is all shades of taupe and earthy colors. The linen napkins were used to wrap up the gifts and tied up with lovely lace. (A whole roll of it for only .75 cents :)

This bag that my anniversary present came in

was given a little scrappy camouflage.

And I'm ready to go! Hope you are having a super Sunday. Friendship Blessings, Tammy

I had a banana for breakfast with my yogurt. I saw on my monm's post you can't find pumpkin, that is a bummer... what is Thanksgiving without pumpkin? Well I guess we need to always be thankful for what we do have, say's the girl who will have pie. ha ha!! You have really become the queen of crafts over the years. You are always inspiring me.
love and hugs, your cuz'

That banana cake looks great Tammy. If you are like me,I seem to always have bananas that are slightly turning and the family won't touch them, so this is a great way to use them. Hummmm!
Way to go girl and put the shelf together yourself! I need to take a page from your book. It seems I'm always waiting for Dale to get home to help with something I'm sure I could do myself.
Thanks Tammy for your sweet message on my post.
hugs

You were not kidding when you said you did a lot of organizing with the bookcase that you put together. That thing is FULL!! Good for you for getting it all done. Now you can enjoy the rest of the vacation without things left undone on your mind.
I love that Banana cake that you make. I have the recipe and still make it. SO easy!
Your gift bag made me smile, as I have not figured out what your presents will be given to you in. My presentation skills really need some work...
