Friday Friends and Fantasy

I hope everyone had a good start to their day! TGIF!

While catching up on blogs, I saw that sweet Judi over at The Vintage Hope Chest did a post just for me yesterday. You can check it out here. Thanks Judi! I really appreciate you thinking of me. We are having another dusty day here. My balcony is such a mess. But I did want to show you that I do have some succulents. Not sure what this is, but definitely hardy enough to withstand the heat and dust of this country as its been around for years.

This afternoon we went to lunch with friends. Our intent was to go to my favorite Indian restaurant, Rangoli, but unfortunately, due to slow business, they are now only open in the evenings, even on weekends. What a bummer! We wound up going for Chinese food. Both restaurants are at the SAS hotel.

When days are dreary and drab, I crave color and beauty, so picked up a couple of magazines at the hotel bookshop.

I am fantacizing that I am here ...

Definitely need to head to the plant souk soon so I can add some color to my balcony, or at least more succulents.

Wishing you all a garden of blessings
and a wonderful weekend, Tammy

I know your weather can be hot & dusty but when we in the northeast are suffering in the snow & ice you are still sort-a-warm!! I guess it is all in prospective!!
Have a great weekend!!

Hi Tammy!
I just can't imagine all that dust you have to deal with! I can see how you'd want to escape into the pages of those great magazines.

Still, there's an awful lot of beauty where you are, too. Beautiful succulents!

Have a wonderful weekend!
Anne

Hi Tammy...That was nice that you were included on the other blog. So glad you got some new magazines. I think Kuwait would be way too dry for me. Lived in Arizona 12 years and that was H-O-T. I don't think I'll ever complain of heat again. ha! Take care and have a peaceful weekend. Please stop by to visit any time. Sincerely, Susan

It must be such a hard thing dealing with all that dust and heat. But you can create a beautiful nest indoors I suppose! Your succulent is gorgeous. And my favorite cuisine is Indian - I made some chicken curry just this week! =) Have a lovely weekend!

That plant in your second picture looks like a Jade plant. I have one potted in my house. It is quite old. It would be neat to see it growing naturally.

Your succulent is very pretty. Nothing like some beautiful magazines to chase the drab and drearies away. Wishing you a lovely weekend.

Hi Tammy!!!
I'm back! Well, I've been back for almost a week now but it's like I've been in a PINK coma since...but I'm finally coming out of it and getting back to my "old" self!
I've missed you and I've missed my visits here! Whew!
I read up on the kittens, Zack's baseball tournament (which was still a win in my book!) your awesome finds at your closing antiques shop :( and surprise roses from hubby...so sweet!
Your feelings for change and nesting is normal girl...I love your new blog again. This one is one of my favs.
Now since things are getting back to normal, I hope to visit often again. I hate it when I get soooo busy...I start having withdrawals!
My next trip is not until the end of June so I think I'll be okay. But I do have 6 freakin' swaps I'm in right now....how do I get myself in this??? hahahahhaha I just LOVE it though!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend...in Tulip Heaven! ;)

I read Judi's blog and loved her "ode to Tammy". What a wonderful idea on her part to give you ideas as to what plants might survive the heat and dust of Kuwait. Very nice.

Sorry to hear that Rangoli's is not open regular hours anymore. I am glad it did not stop you from having a nice lunch with friends.

Have fun going through the magazines. One day you will get your garden...

Nice, cool morning here. Perfect for walking up hills. HA! I am having lunch with my friend that I always run into out there. We have been trying to plan this for months now. I need you to meet her if you are here this summer. You two have a lot in common. Nice lady.

Have a great Monday!

Love,
Renee

Succulents are low-maintenance and need water only every other day, so they are great!, and look nice, right?
