Every Day in May: 12

 View from the balcony.
Dates will ripen over the summer months.
A quick walk this morning to collect cans.  I don't know if anyone can benefit from them but I do it anyways.  Most recycling companies have gone out of business over the years because they can't get people to care or cooperate.  I leave the cans by the trash bins and hope the garbage guys will know what to do with them, if anything.
Someone had thrown this out so it came home with me.
A delicate dragonfly balancing act.
Longer walks will have to happen in the evening since the high today was near 100 F.
Hope your day is a good one.

Enjoyed your pictures. We save water bottles for our little neighbor downstairs. She does a lot of recycling, and folks here in the complex help her out by leaving bottles and cans by her door. I always feel like I'm walking with you.
Blessings for a good rest of the week.

Thank you so much for taking us along on your stroll, Tammy. I have never seen a date tree before.

In Germany we recycle everything. Everyone does that. I have at home 5 trash bins: metal and plastic, glass, paper, organics and toiletries. Plus bottles for "refund". I dont know why I do it, but it feels so good, eventhough you just do a small small part of cleaning the general "polutioning"... Feels good and feels right... But I come originally from a country where people just throw things not even to trash bins, but to streets.... and I dont know why they do it that way..... Is it personality, culture, or smt else... I dont know..

Our Date trees will begin to fruit in another month. I love seeing the treasures you find on your walk!

Good for you in always thinking of the things you can do to improve your corner of the world. I just don't understand those that throw trash anywhere and everywhere. And leave their abandoned animals. Bless you for caring my dear friend. I pray for your safety daily.
Blessings and love,
Betsy

Dear Tammy, it's very commendable that you're collecting the cans! For years I annoyed various politicians with my emails and photos of litter in nature (and I probably wasn't the only one) – and now we finally have a deposit system for cans and plastic bottles. Since then, I find much less trash (almost nothing!) in nature on my frequent walks!

All the best from Austria, Traude

We collect our own recycling and take it to a local trailer that has large bins for people to use. Many people here don't care, either. Interesting to see a date tree!

I think it’s wonderful that you still bother with the cans-- even if it feels small, it’s still a caring gesture.
Evening walks sound like the best plan with that kind of heat.
Stay cool and keep sharing your treasures 🌸.

Here in Sweden we get paid for all aluminum cans and PET bottles so we always collect them when we see any.
I have to admit that I have never tasted dates. Hope all is fine with you.
