Shanda at A Pause on the Path hosts a Finding Beauty Blog Hop so I thought today I would participate for the very first time.
November through March marks the rainy season in Kuwait.
And today is a cloudy day in my corner of the world.
Although we don't usually get a lot of rain, it does mean that this is our growing season since the rest of the year is too hot for much to survive.
This is the time of year when everyone goes out to the nurseries for flowering plants and trees and bushes.
Bougainvillea do really well in this climate all year round but can be seen in all their colorful glory now.
Yesterday I spied a pretty yellow butterfly flitting about outside on the balcony.
And this morning, Jingles decided to enjoy some fresh air.
But after a few minutes with no sun to warm her, she decided hunkering down in a pot of moss roses was much more comfortable.
Today marks the Islamic New Year on the Hijrah calendar. Although a new year is not traditionally celebrated, the passing of time is acknowledged and it is a time to reflect on our own mortality.
Another fresh new year is here . . .
Another year to live!
To banish worry, doubt, and fear,
To love and laugh and give!
This bright new year is given me
To live each day with zest . . .
To daily grow and try to be
My highest and my best!
I have the opportunity
Once more to right some wrongs,
To pray for peace, to plant a tree,
And sing more joyful songs!
(William Arthur Ward - American dedicated scholar, author, editor, pastor and teacher)
I think we should consider every day as the beginning of a bright new year filled with possibilities. Wishing you much peace and many blessings today and every day!

Hi Tammy,
It must be lovely to see more floral colour around you. Jingles looks so content in the Moss rose.
Have a great day,
Hugs, Angela.
Hi Tammy:
I'm stopping by from Shanda's. Your photos are beautiful.
Many blessings,
Joan
So nice to see your pretty flowers- ours are long gone.
Hi Tammy,
First off I want to wish you a belated Happy Thanksgiving. I hope it was a bountiful one for you & your family. I love the poem by William Arthur Ward, I copied it to my 'quotes & poems' folder. Beautiful words to live by.
It's nice seeing the spring-like blooms when here it's all brown & naked. I enjoyed catching up on your posts. I laughed at your black friday post (yes I to stay far away from that mess) I think I might have bought that sweet little thread box.
Hope you have a great week sweet friend.
Lisa
I think every day should be a day of thanks too!
I love seeing the flowers and especially the pics of sweet Jingles!
Love to you and your family,
LuLu~*xoxo
The flowers are beautiful... Like the quote that you used to have at the top of your blog... each day as the best and the beginning... love it. blessings ~ tanna
Hi Tammy, beautiful flowers! and a reflexion to start the day! thank God for everything! greetings, Rose M.
Looks like some of the same plants we grow here in the Wild Horse Desert of Tx. But no rainy season for us, the drought lives on. But I do search for beauty every day. Sometimes we have to look at things with new eyes, and see the little things that we may otherwise miss if we are rushing too much. I love the poem, especially the last verse. Savor the day!
I too think everyday should be celebrated like the rest of life.... but..... we all are guilty of getting caught up in the everyday dramas we call our lives.
Love Jingles but you already know I am a pushover for a cute fuzzy feline face!!
Have a Great Weekend!
Marilyn
The flowers look a lot like what we have here in Southern California. I guess that makes sense since we are also a desert landscape. Love your kitty. I have one just like that but mine is fluffy. I just took my mom to the airport (before light) and saw a coyote cross the street and realized I had let my kitty out. But she was on the doorstep when I got home :) Thank you for linking up.
Hi Tammy, thank-you so much for your kind words on my blog. I don't know how you found me, but each prayer offered up for my mother is a blessing, and I pray blessings on you also. I love your blog!! And the poem is wonderful. I'll be back often,
Laurie
What a wonderful way to think Tammy. Wishing you lots of flowers to enjoy during your growing season. I love the picture of Jingles with her face to the sky in anticipation of the sun. Enjoy your weekend. :-)
Hi Tammy,
The flowers are all beautiful and look so springy. Here of course things are looking pretty bare. Time to decorate for Christmas, just brought the tree in yesterday and house smells of pine.
I so agree with starting each morning a new, the Lord looks at us new with every sunrise, we get a brand new day! Wishing you a wonderful weekend
Blessings
Rebecca
Beautiful! And happy new year! It seems appropriate to mark the new year at the beginnning of such a season of rebirth and beauty!
It is SO nice to see flowers! And Jingles knows how to appreciate their beauty, too.
I love that we live so far away from each other but that we are connected via the net. It brings the world a bit closer to the heart.
Have a great day. Oh, and my bday is Dec 3. Like Andy Williams! But not as old!
Hi Tammy,
Oh what beautiful pictures--and precious kitty!! Thank you for being one of my blessings~
Louisiana hugs,
Cindy
So glad I came by today honey. I love this post and your right we should consider each day a new beginning.
Beautiful flowers and I always love pictures of Jingles.
I laughed at your pictures of your Black Friday. Now that would be the only way I would shop on this day is at a market like yours. I am a little crazy but not so much that I would shop on that day. lol
wanted to come by today and thank you for being one of my reasons for being so Thankful this year at Thanksgiving.
Love
Maggie
Our growing season ends and yours begins.....we will get to enjoy more beauty through your blog.
I love the picture of Jingles in the chair, so sweet.
Have a great weekend.
A beautiful post, Tammy. I loved all the photos! There truly is so much beauty around us. We are heading into our rain and storm season very soon. Sometimes, it can be quite scary but I guess there is lots of beauty too.
Love,

I hope Jingles found some sun today!

Hi Tammy,
I loved seeing all your beautiful flowers, butterfly and Jingles. Funny how cats love sitting in flower pots, our cat Hyacinth used to enjoy doing that.
Lovely post, of every new day a new begining - wishing you the happiest of days.
Hugs
Carolyn
beautiful post, beautiful poem :-)
Thanks for sharing......
Good advice: To look as every new day as a new day of possibilities! :)
So many beautiful flowers surrounding you now after the dry period.
Blessings!
