My friend, Melissa, calls me a hermit. I am definitely a homebody. Right now I am on a mission to use what I have in my cupboard for meals rather than running to the grocery store. And if I am gonna turn the oven on in this heat (it's currently 117 degrees), then I might as well make good use of it.
Curried pumpkin soup (using canned pumpkin)...
roasted cauliflower soup (you can find the recipe here at The English Kitchen) ...
cornbread ...
and lemon curd thumbprint cookies.
While everything was cooking and baking, I also made a simple cherry tomato salad ...
Once the cooking and clean up is done, it is back to crocheting doilies, dishcloths and pretty pouches.
There's always something on my hook.
And now there will be something on my plate (or in my bowl) for the next several days.
Hope your day is a good one! Best wishes and blessings, Tammy

It all looks delicious Tammy! Especially the cornbread.. still warm with some butter on... I can imagine it tastes yummie. The cookies looks very good too.
I´m a hermit too by the way but packing right now for a few days in Stockholm. :)
Have a great evening!
Yes, I agree with Sussie... that cornbread looks soo delicious!!
Perfect music for your post today. Everything looks delicious. If I get brave enough I might post how I cope with cooking in a hot kitchen (?) We'll see. Diane

Blessings to you!
Hi Tammy Sweetie...
Oh do I hear you sweet friend. The heat here in the Phoenix desert has been unbearable as well. Some days you want to be a hermit crab. Crawl right back into your shell and sleep all day.
Your dinners look great, and cornbread is my all time favorite. You cook right up my alley sweetie.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Keep on crocheting. Your projects are positively beautiful. You do such gorgeous work. Love the little bag. That is just darling.
Many hugs and much love from Phoenix, Sherry
Hi Tammy,
I just love Tomato Salad, Delicious!
I don't blame you being a hermit in such temperatures, I would be too. It gives you lots of time to be creative.
Keep cool,
Hugs, Angela.x
As a fellow homebody, this looks like a perfect day to me. I know so many people who can't stand staying home all day. I find it quite delightful. Your food all looks delicious. I am going to have to try making pumpkin soup.
Have a wonderful weekend.
I hate to go to the grocery store too. My kids go for me a lot now but with my son just leaving and my daughter getting ready to go for 7 weeks, I might just have to go on a diet!!!! Love curried pumpkin soup and never heard of lemon curd thumbprint cookies. I usually use jam but I do have a great recipe for lemon curd so might try it!
Yummy, could just do with that pumpkin soup right now as it's turned abit chilly over here tonight. Thanks for the link for the Roasted Cauliflower soup, think that might be on my menu tomorrow evening :)
117degrees? Why don't you just set everything out on the balcony all day and slow cook it...unless kitty eats vegetarian....LOL
Everything looks delish...especially the tomato salad....olive oil, onions, salt and pepper?

Bring on the Fall comfort foods! I've been craving homemade soup, because I've just about had my fill of the summer foods too, but that tomato salad looks positively heavenly!
I, too, am quite the homebody! Thankfully, my hubby is very understanding of this habit of mine. I have recently been trying to use up all my cupboard stores. Hubby has been excellent about running to the store to retrieve only the necessaries such as milk and eggs. Your crocheting looks to be coming along quite well! Glad to have stopped by today. =)
Dearest Tammy,
You really did cook away lots of things. Funny, I'm doing the very same. Emptying my pantry and using up all of my stock. I do love to bake and cook huge batches. It gives you more time on hand later when you just can thaw it and eat! As for you, that means stitching away on your projects.
Lots of love,
Mariette
yummy yummy!!! que buena pinta!!!
greetings from Spain,
elena
The salad looks best to me.. yummo! Next time you come to visit you will need to teach me some new stitches.
Miss you!
You are one busy lady!! It all looks delicious and your crocheted pieces are beautiful!

Hi Tammy,
I too love using up all what we have in the cupboard and pantry before going to the grocery store. I often make pumpkin soup and enjoy it.

Tammy I love how we are kindred spirits with our mantras Be Here Now!
So happy you are enjoying your downtime before heading back to school.
Your cooking and crocheting look marvelous, I only wish the weather was bit cooler for you.
You are a shining light my friend.
Big hugs

Mmmmm.... everything looks so yummy! Soup does indeed fuel the soul doesn't it? I hope you have air conditioning! :)

I'll be a hermit with you anyday. In fact, I wish I had more hermit time... Your day in the kitchen looks yummy, and I am jelous to know that you are able to find canned pumpkin in Kuwait. The only time you will find it in Doha is around Thanksgiving. Wish I was there to eat soup with you!!
Love the fact that there is always something on your hook! Enjoy your day, dear!!
XOXO

Gosh, you had great stuff in your cupboard! Sure doesn't look like leftover type food at all!
Go homebody!
Everything looks good! Especially those cookies- I looove cookies!
the colors of the soups and tomatoes are lovely!
Hey, I'm comin to your place to eat. It all looks so yummy. Coming from me, that's a compliment. I can't believe you are working on winter crochet already. At least you're being a productive hermit;)
Kisses, Melissa
I know what you mean about not wanting to cook in the heat!! At any rate, I'd rather eat a big tomatoe salad anyways:) Beautiful crochet work, too!!
