Yesterday I made Mexican Wedding cookies ...
peanut butter cookies ...
and brownies ...
then packaged them all up in takeaway containers.
We went to visit friends at their home and met Fuso for the first time. He was rescued from the street, loves to fetch ponytail holders and eats dates.
That's something he and Jingles have in common.
A neighbor gave us fresh dates from his tree the other day. We can't leave them on the dining table because Jingles will get up there and start to nibble.
If you haven't had fresh dates, they are really delicious. We like them when they are still golden and slightly crunchy.
It's been a quiet day here with kitty and crochet to keep me company.
Hope you are having a fabulous Friday! Friendship blessings, Tammy

Sure hope Jingles (and Fusco) don't eat TOOOO many dates! That could result in ~ well, you get it!
Oh, those treats look wonderfully tasty. I make MWCakes every Christmas and they don't last long. And they are pretty easy to make, which is a plus!
We're back to normal here and the heat is getting high again (here) but I'm NOT complaining after Oklahoma! There are some nice puffy clouds coming this way though.
Have a good weekend. We're going to Gold Rush Days here in town....kinda fun. Panning for gold, 'shoot-outs', and a burro race. OH, and a beer garden! I'll have one for YOU!
Hugs

Have a nice weekend Tammy!
Oh the baked goods are calling me!! Send some to me. lol
I finished the baby's blanket , nothing special , just a single chain stitch , but I put a little love in every link.
Have a great weekend.
Yummy Tammy, those cookies look soooo good. And guess what? My mother-in-law's all time favorite cookie is the Mexican Wedding cookie...:-) Thank you so much for your kind birthday wishes for her. Have a wonderful weekend my friend.
Hugs and Kisses,
♥Ana
THEY LOOK SO DELICIOUS, I LOVE THE PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES. I NEVER HAD A FRESH DATE BEFORE JUST THE DRIED ONES, AND DATES ARE YUMMY. SO JINGLES LIKES DATES TOO, THAT'S FUNNY. HOPE YOU ARE FEELING COOL, OUR WEATHER IS STILL HOT, BUT VERY LOW HUMIDITY.... :)
HAVE A NICE WEEKEND, RIZZI
Hi Tammy...Impossible to leave comments under my Google account. Do not know why
Anyway, wanted to say how lush your baked goods look. Also, I envy you being able to bake and stay slender.
Fuso looks like a dead ringer for my Honey Cat...same nose markings, even! Isn't that amazing?
Take care and stay cool. Susan from writingstraightfromtheheart.blogspot.com
Love your pictures and those goodies - oh my! Making me hungry.
Funny about Jingles and the dates. Our cat Winston will not eat ANYTHING except for dry diet cat food. That's it. He runs if you try to offer tuna or anything other than his cat food. :)
Have a great weekend. We are off to the Band picnic/end-of-camp preview show in just about an hour and then entertaining later for Sarah's boyfriend's Mom and Sarah's boyfriend.

I've never had fresh dates before, but based on the opinion of those two gorgeous cats and yourself, I would love to try them one of these days!! Oh, what wonderful treats you shared with your friends. Mexican Wedding Cookies are among my most favorite.
I am so sorry about your bad experience flying home that time with the rude woman. People never cease to amaze me! Both with the absolutely amazing good they can do and things they can rise above... and with the depths they can stoop! I have really appreciated the suggestion of some that they should get to visit a Coliseum. ;)
Blessings, dear one. Stay cool! Tanna
That is hilarious that these sweet kitties eat dates!!! I love that pic of Jingles....soooooo sweet!
Love,

Hi Tammy! I think your home must have smelled divine! I think that there is nothing like a house filled with the delicious scents of a woman working away in her kitchen! I know it really warms my family's heart when I bake like this. And here you are sharing them with your friends...you really are such a social butterfly!
Thanks for your visits...I love hearing from you!

I love those Mexican Wedding Cookies!!! Now I am hungry and tomorrow I will have to make me some!
Deb
What a delightful post! I'm hungry just looking at the cookies - you covered all my favorites! And the cat pictures are so pretty. Fuso is a beautiful kitty and Jingles is just so photogenic. Diane
Love the cat pictures, reminds me of my childhood cat, called 'Ginger' of course. The cookies look great but I'm being 'good' for a while and hitting the gym too. Moving house somehow added a few pounds that need to be dealt with.
Have a great weekend.
Hugs, Angela.
I have never eaten or seen fresh dates, .. just the ones we buy from the shops.... they would have to be my favourite all time snack :))
The cats always seem to make a home a home.. :))
Mmmm, lovely cookies and you made so much!
I also love dates and their rich, delicious taste!
Cats and dates? Bizarre!
Lovely looking cookies - Feeling hungry now!!

Those cookies look tasty! Fuso is a handsome boy, so great to have taken him off the street. Jingles is looking handsome in the chair, they are such great company aren't they? :)
Mmmmm- those are my three favourite backed goods. I looove dried dates, have never seen them fresh where I live:( We have a cat who plays fetch as well!! Thank you so much for coming by my blog- see you again soon:)
Dearest Tammy,
What a funny streaks our kittens have at times! Yours nibbles on dates and ours love avocados. Guess they too have the natural urge for eating healthy and balanced.
Enjoy your fresh dates, that's something we don't have here.
Love to you,
Mariette
Mmmmm..... I bet it smelled good at your house!! I have never had a fresh date but I bet they are good. Too funny that the kitties like dates. Banjo likes eating peas. :)
Happy Sunday!
xo Catherine
Those Mexican cookies look lovely, how are they made?
Love the cats.

Oh my, all of the cookies look so good, and I love dates, but have never had fresh ones. Love the kitty photos too...so sweet!
Tammy, your fresh dates look wonderful. I love dates, but your baked goods--heavenly. I am trying to stay away from sweets, but do allow myself dates now and then.
Kitty looks so comfy in the cushions. I think it's a riot that he loves dates. My friend had a cat who went crazy for cantaloupe. Mine are now into Greek yogurt-actually cry for it daily!
Hope you are staying cool as possible in your desert climate!
Hugs,
Sherry
Mmmm, I loooove Mexican Wedding Cookies! God bless Fuso - I'm so glad he/she got rescued. How funny that Jingles and Fuso love dates....they have great taste :) Bless their lamby hearts. Those dates do look yummy.
Mmmmm....your sweets look yummo! Before I go back to school, I will make some goodies to give out on the first day of school. I always like to try to start off the year on a positive note.
Not surprised about the cats. I'm sure my cat Jackass would be joining Jingles on a date binge. Now Misk is more sophisticated and will only touch her cat food. Jingles looks so cute sitting comfy in the chair.
Love ya, Melissa
I love that you take homemade sweets when you go to visit friends. I have not made Mexican Wedding cookies in a long time. They are one of my favorites!
Fuso looks like such a great cat! Just to look at him, he reminds me some of Jingles. Funny that they both like dates. Jingles has so many little qualities that make him special. HA! I am laughing to think of him raiding your dates at night. Hope you are able to able to hide your dates from him long enough to enjoy them yourselves!!
Stay cool, my friend!!
Love,
Renee
