Dust If You Must

Today we were greeted with gorgeous blue skies.
I was up  early and enjoyed some quiet time and crochet before heading to a friend's for brunch.
Even took an hour long afternoon walk with my husband.
But then it happened.  I decided to dust a little, which then turned into a 3 hour cleaning spree, rearranging, moving of furniture.  I finally gave up and just pushed some things into the corner and said to heck with it.   Not really how I had wanted to end such a lovely weekend.  Housework and I do not get along at all.
Hope your day is going well.

I did some dusting myself.. I had to polish up my baby grand piano so I could take some photos of the doily that Betsy crocheted for me! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Your photos are lovely, especially the flower and bee :) of course the food too--the plate of bread, love anything bread-like :)
Crochet on the jar looks really nice :)

Dust if you must...yes I just cleaned and dusted my computer area and desk...Who messes it up when I'm gone...oh, that's right it was me.

My dearest found my bin of summer clothes in the garage...been looking for and also a couple of floral swags I was missing. Got my Sunday Meditation done, and posted the daily prayer for tonight so I'd say it's been a good day.

You take such good "close up" pictures...loved them all.

Well, MOST of that day sounded like lots of fun! ;)
I dug into housecleaning a few weeks ago and went at it pretty effectively til I reached the point where things had been moved to the last "holding area" which now remains to be dealt with. So far, I am dealing with it by avoiding spending any time there.
I always enjoy your photographs of food! Everything always looks healthy and good :)

Good for you, T. I spent the morning changing beds and washing all the linens. Between yesterday's clothing laundry and the bedding, I did nine loads of laundry in about 18 hours! I'm taking the night off. Haha. :)

That usually happens to me, when I start vacuuming.

Oh oh, Tammy. Dusting turned into something more. I know how that goes. Hope the rest of the weekend will be good for you. If it's over, hope the week goes well. Susan

Hi Tammy,

Sounds like the perfect weekend until the housework - know exactly what you are saying - one little job ends up into the next and next.
Happy new week

Dearest Tammy,
What a fate in the end... We had a power outage for about 4 hours this afternoon so my vacuum did not happen! Life at times is throwing things at you not asked for. I did put things up and that's about it. I too don't like the time spent on such chores... In The Netherlands I did have help for that, I worked full time and kept the place tidy so that worked fine. Here it's different.
Hugs to you and enjoy a new week.

Housework? Dusting? No way. I'm with Miss Piper and we spent the afternoon playing at the park with Grandpa! Although you had to spend some time cleaning, the rest of your day sounds lovely.
Blessings,
Betsy

That happened to me yesterday, I started to wipe the green thick pollen off of some furniture outside and before you know it I was scrubbing down everything and cleaning windows. It looks nice now but was a lot of work.

I really need to do some dusting. Like Meredith said --- the pollen is EVERYWHERE! Even my smartphone screen was covered with it yesterday.

But first ......some KNITTING!!!!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Hi Tammy! Well, weekends are meant to be for rest... but even I have to do some housework on them, as I have no other time. I understand how happened that you couldn't stop - it is like "Oh, a little here, oh and there, and there".. never ending! I know this too well! Yesterday Had to stop myself from cleaning the whole kitchen, though I did quite much. Have a nice week ahead! Today was a nice cloudy day here, I enjoyed a lot. Hugs!

You may not get along with housework...but think of all you got accomplished during those 3 hours...that is 3 hours of housework, you won't have to do again for weeks! Love the photo of the crochet on the jar...is that Mary Jane's Farm magazine I see, I love that magazine!

Dust if you must....exactly my thoughts(haha). Also partly because I am allergic to dust and end up sneezing and coughing for days. Since nobody else at my place wants to do the cleaning, I am left to my own devices to clean as and when I feel like. Works fine for me...LOL
Have a great week. Regards

For an awful moment I thought you were about to share another of those monster dust storms! Phew, thank goodness it's just you shaking out your perky little feather duster. Are you wearing your little apron too, LOL!
Yes, sometimes dusting seems such ridiculous chore - like painting the Golden Gate bridge, soon as you're done you have to start over again. The new carpet seems to making dust here but it is a 'green carpet' and supposedly healthy. I've never had a cleaner, let alone a housekeeper, but didn't used to mind doing it - now it's after literally painful and I sometimes have to say forget it today, perhaps I'll tackle it tomorrow.

Tammy your bees are so different than ours - pretty though.

Hugs - Mary

I'd rather do almost anything other than clean house. LOL! But, you are right... once you start, one thing leads to another... to another... to another. LOL! Love the walk and the brunch time though! blessings ~ tanna

But it sounds like a beautiful start! I'm not sure that rearranging furniture wouldn't be a perfect end for me!

Oh no I'm always turning a 5 min job into 3 hours oh dear. The beginning of the day sounded lovely x

That sounds like what I need to do! I do the opposite...things I should spend hours on...I spend only moments :)

It's always a lot more fun to be out and about than inside doing housework!

I never dust if I can help it ... well, only if there's company coming. :)

What lovely photos - especially the bee on the blossom and that table full of good things to eat. Have a wonderful week!

Hi Tammy,
I don't clean nearly as much as I should. Gave that up years ago and it works for us, lol. As for moving around furniture, I used to LOVE to do that ever since I was a little girl, but I can't anymore because our house is so small and for instance, in the living room (our only main living space) there is a wall-mounted flat screen television and a piano and therefore, those things can only remain where they are, and thus there is no place to move the couch and chairs. Same in our bedroom - our bedset is so large it only fits one way in the room, so that settled that. Instead, I've been doing nothing other than goofing off for days (something I'm good at) since we're still on spring break here. It doesn't feel like spring right now - very very cold again - but at least the sun has been out every day and we do have pretty blue skies. Normal warmer spring temps are supposed to begin to return tomorrow and thereafter, and I'll be happy for that, because I'm so tired of being cold. :)
Hope you're enjoying a great new week,
Linda

Dusting - the single reason I avoid holding on to knick knacks. The more you have, the more you have to dust. 'Nough said. =)

Oh Tammy, I know this kind of cleaning-excess, too - some kind of decorating instead of dusting - housework and I also don't get along ;o)
Lots of hugs, my dear - a new weekend is waiting for you! :o)
