Stashbusting Sunday: Giant Granny and Little Leaves

A giant granny square is my most recent project.
Some of the yarn was bought 2 years ago by my husband while on a business trip in Bangkok.  I figured it was about time I put it to good use.
With the leftover bits, I've made a few Autumn leaves.
Which have then been used to embellish gift bags.
You can find the leaf pattern here.

If you enjoy fiber art and learning about different cultures, then you should visit Around the World in 80 Skeins,a blog tour of fiber art designers. Maya at Little Treasures recently participated and shared her beautiful country of Macedonia.

Thanks, Linda, for hosting the stash-buster party.
Best wishes,

Hi Tammy I love your granny square blanket the colours are lovely together and yes you are right it is therapeutic to pick up a piece of simple stitch crochet and just let your hook do the talking while your mind can wander all over the place. Those little gift bags are extra special with the pretty Autumn leaves. Thank you for linking and have a great week. :) xxx

What a perfect square for the colors of Autumn! Sounds like you're having a nice weekend of crochet. I'm done with my first fingerless mitt on the CAL on Mrs. Macawber blog. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Oh my Gosh!
I am so flattered by your mentioning the blog journey! Thank you so much Tammy! Isn't it a wonderful project?! I am quite taken by it myself and I enjoy every post to the fullest, learning about new countries and meeting new designers! Kimberly is a genius devising such a great project - I hope she makes it into a book one day!!!
Oh, I mustn't forget your wonderful projects :)
That granny is a stunner and I am so much in love with your leaves! Just the perfect thing for Thanksgivin décor!

So satisfying to put yarn to use - the basketful in my living room sometimes makes me feel a bit guilty, especially as somehow I keep adding to it....

What a cheery granny and lovely gift bags! Have a great week, Tammy. :)

Your giant granny is looking wonderful Tammy! Your leaves also are perfect on the gift bag. I made an autumn garland out of similarly made leaves last year. I hope your weekend has been a lovely one my friend.
Blessings,
Betsy

How big is that Granny Square? I've not done one of those but want to. I imagine you can make them as big as you want?
Your leaves are precious and what a nice addition to your gift bags. Have a great week!
