Sky watching, like bird watching, is much better than anything you can find on tv.
Our weather was very moody today ... from cool to warm with puffy white clouds and stormy dark ones.
We even had a little rain which made the plants very happy.
Seeing as I haven't watched tv in a year and a half and am totally out of the loop on so many things, I had not heard of Pentatonix until I saw a post on Catherine's blog.
I've just spent the whole evening listening to their songs on YouTube. Their voices are incredible and harmonize so well together.
This first granny mini-mandala was finished last week using a pattern from Zooty Owl.
I like these colors a lot.
But not so sure about this one.
A true stash-busting project if I ever saw one.
Have a great week.

Agree with you that skys offer better views than TV. Nice to hear you are off TV. I have not had a TV for about 15 years or so. Have not missed it at all. Both your mini-mandalas at very attractive. -- barbara
I always love your mandalas and I know how you love to use up all your stash.. good for you! I have WAY too much in my yarn cabinet.. it's bulging at the seams. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
I would love to try and switch the telly off and just be. I contiously did not put it on after the school run and just listened and watched my children play. I will try a bit more I think.
Agree! I would rather be outside then inside watching tv, unless it's cold and snowy! :) Love the mandala's, so pretty!
I have enjoyed catching up on your posts...such neat photos of birds and plants and sky and your current yarny projects, Tammy! I put some more rows in my pumpkin this morning and have decided that my mistakes will help it look more natural .....hmmmm. Wishing you happy days!
Beautiful mandelas and sky pictures Tammy. So pretty. Pentatonix! Oh how I enjoy the harmonies of this group. I have several of their CD's. My daughter told me about them. My very favorite Christmas song of all time is "Mary Did You Know" and I love the version they have just released.
Happy Thanksgiving! Do you celebrate it?
Blessings,
Betsy
I'm such a sky-watcher. I do it every single day. You captured some beautiful skies. I like Pentatonix too! My husband and I look up their YouTube videos often. Hope you have a good week, Tammy.
I rarely watch TV too - maybe a cooking or decorating show once in awhile - so I'm out of the loop, too. I hadn't heard of the group you featured either. Pretty voices!
I enjoy sky watching too.I'm not much of a TV person either
Pentatonix was all over the net last year too with Drummer boy if I remember correctly. I like them very much too.
Those mandalas are so nice Tammy.
I gave up sat t.v. as well and don't much miss it. The county library has BBC dvd's that I enjoy. Thanks for introducing Pentatonix to me; they are fabulous...and cute as buttons, all.
No TV for a year and a half...that sounds like a wonderful thing. I often spend the day without the tv on, but in the evenings when others are here it always seems to be on.
What made you decide to give it up? Just curious.
xo,
Deb
Those photos are gorgeous! You sure have a good eye. :) Kit
Beautiful skies. We sure had a mix of clouds today and srong winds.
Love both mandalas. The colors look so nice together.
I often wish a TV didn't take up space in my little cottage - what I could do there with lovely books, art, and beautiful things I find here and there! But, there it sits, although we don't watch many actual TV programs, mostly use it for Netflix movies and TV series, the latter usually British as they are the best! Fortunately it's in a cabinet with doors that I can close over the screen when I don't want to see it glaring back at me!
Love your skyline photos Tammy, and many thanks for the sweet music.
Have a great week - are you celebrating Thanksgiving like me, lots of vegs, NO turkey?
Hugs - Mary
Dearest Tammy,
Both of us seldom watch TV, other than Fox News!
You are so right that being out in nature is far better and certainly more healthy. We often joke that we never would win any quiz about movies and such... we're completely illiterate in that area and I don't even care!
Lovely jasmine you got; so healthy. But the year is long and there will come other times... Enjoy it while it lasts.
Love your crochet work.
Hugs,
Mariette
…. such beautiful skies …..
xxxxxx Ale
Your mandalas are lovely, I really like the colour combinations in the first one. I don't know that I am up to date on tv, I watch the shows that I like and don't experiment with new things much! xx
You haven't missed much not having a tv Tammy, we got one back for the Olympics and wish we hadn't.
Believe it or not, I have never made a Madala, I really must have a go, yours are lovely.

I agree with your positive musings - the beautiful skies, crafting, plants (yours is looking great!!), and beautiful Christmas music. I had never heard of that group, but then again, I tend to listen to mostly a mix of alternative rock to various indie folk musicians and I haven't really listened to any Christmas music yet. At any rate, I started to play the video and they are fantastic, a very charming sound to them and the video, it makes me cry because of the imagery of Christmas pasts.... for me, Christmas is all about the emotion of the traditions and memories of Christmas pasts. I tend to start getting very melancholy right about now.
Hope you have a nice remainder of the week. My weekend begins several hours from now as I'm off for the remainder of the week which means - 5 days.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Linda
Looks like a good week for you Tammy, the rain sure makes everything much cleaner.:)
Great sky pictures, Tammy :-) Much better than the TV. I love both your mandalas.
Lovely photo's Tammy, I haven't heard of Pentatonix either I will have a listen when I get back from work today, love your mandala's I think they are both lovely. Have a great day! :) xx
I love that group..and your mandalas!
Hoping you have a wonderful day!
Hi Tammy,
Loved seeing all your pretty skies and as you say better that watching TV. I have not heard of Pentatonix - just off to have a listen.
The mandalas are lovely and like the colours.
Hope you are enjoying the week
hugs
Carolyn
I have never heard of this group, their voies are so beautiful. Love the stashbusting, and I like the second one just fine.
Hugs to you Tammy.
Happy thanksgiving,
Meredith
Hi dearest Tammy,
that's a great Christmas-song! And pretty sky-photos! You wrote it was cool outside in Kuwait sometimes? We had it cold INSIDE this week in the office where I'm working: Earlier this week, the floor was maintained with a cleaner that smells intense and causes headache, so we had to leave the windows open - at 2 degrees Celsius and strong wind ... That's so stupid!
Back to the nice things of life: You are right - cloud-watching is a very good meditation-movie. And your mandalas look so nice!!!
Warm hugs,my dear!
Traude
All the colours are happy.
That last one looks like raspberries and chocolate on my screen.
Love the cloud pictures, I can often be found at the beach watching the clouds roll by. I haven't lived in a house with a TV for 15 years and don't believe I've missed anything.
Have a lovely weekend.
I love Pentatonix. In fact, I love this type of music. I also love The Piano Guys. If you like piano and cello, you will enjoy them. I have cut way back on my TV watching but still have shows I enjoy. I'm watching a lot of movies on DVD now that my DVD player is working again. And of course, reading. Love the mandelas! And your sky photos are gorgeous. Have a wonderful weekend.
Watching the sky is one of my favorite pasttimes. I love a bright blue sky with big puffy white clouds. Blessed rain is so refreshing. Your crocheted mini mandalas are very pretty. Sharing Joy and Peace...
Tammy, you are right about the music and the stash busting mandala's! Have fun!!!
We don't miss TV either ... it's amazing how much time there is for other things now :)
Beautiful photos and I think I had heard them once before...great voices!
Love your mandalas!
