The Busy Month of October

Only the first week of October and it has already been a very busy month.
My oldest son turned 19 on the 3rd and Eid Al Adha was celebrated from the 4th to the 6th.  We've done lots of visiting with friends and running around over the past several days.  Although my husband went back to work today, schools are still closed for the rest of the week which makes me very, very happy.

Whenever I have down time, I am still crocheting and doodling.  And Jingles is my constant companion doing what she does best.  Did you know that October 4th was World Animal Day?
Yesterday we spent the entire day with Kuwaiti friends at Khiran Resort which was built in the 80's.  I walked a total of about 2 hours and then we biked for an hour so it was a very active day.  A bit humid, but bearable.
The weather is slowly changing, still very hot in the afternoon, but nice in the morning and evenings.  We made a trip to the plant souk where there was lots of color.  Always so happy for the planting season to begin here.
Still much to look forward to in October -- our 20th wedding anniversary is on the 20th, my youngest boy will turn 16 at the end of the month and we will have another day off for Islamic New year.  Lots of friends are having birthdays this month, too.  And it's Breast Cancer Awareness Month so I think some pink crochet is called for.  And let's not forget Halloween.  A busy, busy month indeed.
Hope you are having a lovely month so far.
Best wishes and blessings,

That all looks nice. : )

Our October isn't quite as busy because November/December are our busiest months for family birthdays/anniversaries, holidays, etc., but we have some fun things planned for this month. This weekend, we'll travel to my friends' house for a BBQ, this is a friend whom I first worked with 30 years ago and we've become close again thanks to Facebook!! She and her husband were here a month ago, and now it's their turn to host the party. :)

At the end of this month, something very special is happening, but I'll write about that after the event as I don't want to jinx it.

Have a great remainder of the week! I'm off on a sick day today and back to bed shortly.

Your photos of your surroundings makes me think of California or new Mexico except for the architecture. I would imagine you have weather similar to these states. -- barbara

Wow, you DO have a LOT of things happening in this month! I bet you're enjoying cooler temps. Dayle's birthday is on the 25th and we're taking out travel trailer to a beachside RV park for a whole week! Fun times ahead. Enjoy all your activities, but be sure to relax too. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

You are very busy! But in a fun and enjoyable way. The flowers are so pretty and are those rice croquettes I see in one of your pictures?
The ocean or sea? is so gorgeous and the trees arched over the walk way. Your doodling is very professional! I'm busy but not getting anywhere! LOL! Take care and Happy Birthday to your son and Happy Anniversary to you and Sam.

Dearest Tammy,
Happy belated birthday for your college son!
Indeed a very busy month for you and a special one as well.
Yep, World Animal Day started in Florence, Italy in 1931.
Your and our pets cannot complain as they are being loved day by day but so many others that lack any love or shelter...
Lovely photos and yes, here too the weather now is lovely, 25°C with low humidity - great! Sunday we did bike and walk as well.
Hugs,
Mariette

It is a busy month - here in Canada we have Thanksgiving, too, this weekend. I'm looking forward to time with family.
Beautiful photos of your corner of the world. What are those delicious looking rolls in the bottom corner of one mosaic - sweet or savory?

Wonderful photos of your area and lifestyle dear Tammy - especially the places at the coast and the plant souk. I've only been to a gold souk - in Dubai - and needless to say didn't puchase anything there! Buying plants would be much more fun for me!!

I have a b'day this month as do several others in the family and among my friends. Your boys are really getting up there now making me feel so old as my youngest grandchild is about to turn 18! Your 20th anniv. looming already - and you always looking so young! Congrats.
Hugs - Mary
