Happy Easter

Today is our last day of Spring Break. Tomorrow I will return to life behind a desk in a windowless office, tap-tap-tapping away on the keyboard and staring at a computer screen for 7 hours.  Can you tell I  am excited?
Despite the heat, I headed out for an hour and a half walk, once again meandering up and down neighborhood streets, looking for spots of green, blooms, finding unusual homes, snapping busy bees and dragonflies. Most of the butterflies from earlier in the week seem to have disappeared.

I especially love these hollyhocks standing so straight and tall!  So beautiful!
Was very happy upon my return home to have leftover broccoli soup and zaatar olive bread that I made yesterday.
And for a quick dessert, nothing beats a simple banana ice cream.  Frozen banana with just enough almond milk to blend, topped with cinnamon and walnuts, or cocoa powder.  Really satisfying and delicious and much needed on a hot, hot day.
Whatever your plans are for this Easter Sunday, I hope it is a restful, peaceful, lovely day.
Best wishes and blessings,

The very purpose of our life is happiness, which is sustained by hope. We have no guarantee about the future, but we exist in the hope of something better. Hope means keeping going, thinking, ‘I can do this.’ It brings inner strength, self-confidence, the ability to do what you do honestly, truthfully and transparently. Dahli Lama. What a beautiful post you have today. Soon it will be your summer holidays and you will have sunshine to look out at each day! Happy Easter.

Dearest Tammy,
Lovely Easter Sunday post. You had a perfect day with such a walk and finishing with delicious food. You always have such practical, yet yummy dishes. Love the banana ice cream version!
Well, I have worked almost always in a windowless room... Mushroom growing rooms have no windows. Alternating with secretarial jobs where I was surrounded by windows.
It only makes you look forward to the break times where you can 'view' the world for a brief moment.
Hugs to you and stay positive; like you always have.
Mariette

Oh, our day was lovely as it did warm up and we took a long walk in the sunshine; feels so good!

I enjoyed seeing your photos.
I would not like a windowless office and am glad I have a window in mine, even though I too do not like sitting behind a computer all day.

Thankfully, not much school remains here and there are tons of vacation days off and vacation weeks off coming up for me. Everything right now is revolving around my planning of my daughter's big high school graduation party.

Have a nice week,
Linda

Hello Tammy...Thanks so much for your visits.

Sad to hear spring break is over. Wouldn't you love a job where you could be outdoors more? It seems you would be so much happier. Or doing some kind of work with a non-profit, where you could be with people more. I view you as a "people person."

Anyway, Easter's over and I swam this morning. Waiting for arrival of my little sweet pea (19 months.) I'm watching her today. Susan

Hi Tammy,
Well by the time you read this you will most likely have had your first day back to work. I have so enjoyed taking your spring break along with you through your pictures and words. I also spent years tapping at a keyboard in a stuffy office basement, although it do have one little window very high up. Just big enough to see if it was raining, snowy or sunshine but I couldn't see anything else. I hope it was a good day back at work for you. :-)
Blessings,
Betsy

Stuck in a windowless office staring at a computer screen all day? I would go bonkers! I give you a lot of credit. No wonder you love your walks so much! Thanks for the recipe for the banana "ice cream". That sounds delicious. We always have bananas, almond milk, and nuts on-hand so this will make a great go-to dessert.

I have missed visiting and see that you are busy exploring and enjoying life so far from here. You always eat such delicious food. Sorry you are stuck back in your windowless office. Maybe that is why you completely enjoy your walks and exploring. Lovely photos dear. Creative Bliss...

Ahhh, I see you work in a cave as well. =) I brought one tall, bright, standing lamp and a smaller desk lamp into my office...added a huge pic of flowers...anything to add light and make those walls stop closing in! Hope your return to work has been smooth and relatively painless!

You discover so much beauty. MY favorite thing is the oh so cottage-y hollyhocks blooming in front of the palm trees.

Dearest Tammy,
Sorry, I am 3 days late for sweet Jingles but know that I've been thinking about her 10th Birthday. We had a rather hectic week with a very busy schedule, lots of social events to go to. We went to the official Dutch King's Birthday Celebration in Atlanta, with the Honorary Consul and lots of guests. The highlicht was the The Seed & Feed Marching Abominable from Atlanta; what a show and great musicians. They all came decked out in Orange, the color of the Dutch royals.
We did stay at a Hyatt Place for one night before driving home.
Now I have to tidy the home (I hate it as much as you do...) and throw a dinner party for 10+ tomorrow night for Pieter's club of intellectuals (2 women and the rest is all male...). Will get it done no doubt and I have a lady helping me serve them, that is always hectic as they don't linger over dinner but have to hurry for the program that follows. I'd rather have a leisurely dinner but that's the thing they do.
Sending you hugs and sunshine!
Mariette
