Along the Corniche

Smell the sea,
and see the sky,
let your soul and spirits fly.
(Van Morrison)

Another seaside walk today with a view of Kuwait City in the distance.
There was some trash collecting as I went along.  Even though there's many trash containers out there, some people just can't bring themselves to use them.  A couple of fisherman were making quite a mess, so I asked them to clean up the area before they left and they did so without hesitation.
Grateful for trees and green spaces.
Have you ever seen a crab spider?
I've spotted so many of them this year.  They get their name because of those pincerlike legs.
This colorful little insect better be careful or he might be a spider's lunch.
Even though there is still lots of green space along the walkway, I was disappointed to find that an area had been cleared and the path was blocked because of destruction and construction.
A large grassy area and many, many big trees taken down.
It's quite depressing because there is just way too much of this going on right now.
Apparently the Scientific Center is expanding.
But when is enough, enough?
Met this sweet little kitty while out there.  Gosh, the coloring on it was so gorgeous.  Gray and black with splashes of ginger thrown in.  And so very sweet.  I wonder if it was recently dumped because it is just too clean and was purring like crazy.  It breaks my heart to walk away but all the rescue groups are overrun so there's not much I can do.  There are people who go out there every day to feed this group of seaside kitties.
Sending love across the world.
Sunday blessings,

Lovely photos Tammy! I was surprised to learn that the fishermen didn't talk back and actually cleaned up their mess. I am surprised at how much sassy and blatant people have become!

Lovely photos, that is sad when they build over green spaces. good for you asking the fisherman to pick up their liter.
Such a pretty kitty too-people dump off many animals out here in the woods too-very heartbreaking that people would do that
Happy weekend Kathy

Good Morning Tammy. Beautiful ocean views and the tile work is beautiful too. You are an inspiration with your trash gathering. They just bulldozed about 5 more acres of trees close to our home. I don't know what huge building is going in there, but it's getting ridiculous. They just took about 20 acres last year for a new Costco. And then people complain that the moutain lions, bears and other wildlife are coming into the neighborhoods. Well duh! We're excavating and destroying all of their homes. The poor animals are confused and don't know where to go. Sometimes I think people can be idiots. Oops. Sorry. DIdn't mean to go on a rant.
That spider looks scary. I don't think I would want to meet him anywhere. That sweet kitty though. I kow you have such a sweet heart, it had to be hard to leave him behind. I wish people would think more and fix their animals so these poor ones wouldn't suffer.
As I said before Tammy, you are an inspiration with your huge heart and helping hands. Thank you for doing so much where you can. And sharing your hearts along the way.
Many Blessings,
Betsy

It has been a while since I have been near the sea, so I especially enjoyed your views of the sea near you, Tammy. Thanks! I may have seen such a spider, but your good photos help me appreciate the spider and insect in greater detail. Just in the last 12 years since I have lived in the Portland, OR, area, I have seen the farmland around me be snatched up and developed into more shopping centers and housing developments and it is hard for me to welcome the change although I understand the population is growing; I appreciate your concern about the changes you note around you, and am glad you share your hearts to bless others. xxxx

With Amazon’s new headquarters coming to our area the building has exploded. I know change is inevitable. I just wish there was more thought put into the environmental impact. It all makes one feel very helpless. Thanks for sharing the lovely photos and for doing your cleaning up. Every little bit does help.

Enjoyed 'joining you' on another walk Tammy. Thanks for taking us along and showing more of the interesting flora and fauna of Kuwait's shoreline. Your hearts are always so special - just like you.
Off tomorrow again so really busy - Mary x

Your beach walk being disrupted by construction is a bummer.. as is the loss of more trees. I keep hoping that when your husband retires you can move to a more ecologically friendly place. I hope you had a pocket full of kitty kibble when you met up with that cat. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

I know you've talked about the trash in your area before and how some people can be so rude about it...that would really drive me crazy, too. Good for you for speaking up to those fishermen! And that poor little kitty...my heart would be breaking. I've seen photos of crab spiders, but I'm glad I've never seen one in person!

You have such a gentle heart and I can feel your frustration and sorrow in the way some treat our world--and it's very much the same everywhere. We all need to do some small part if that's the least we can do. Your speaking up to the fishermen is a fine example.

Beautiful pictures as always, Tammy, even of the crab spider which probable would have made me un!

It's good that you care Tammy. Compassion, care and concern are admirable qualities. I love the hearts that you leave. A lady at church made lots once, I was given one and it meant a lot to me. She'd embroidered 'expect a miracle' on it. Have a good week, Cathy x

Dearest Tammy,
Indeed, when is enough enough! Those calculations for profit making is often at a high cost as green patches must vanish for it. Sad fact but not all people have a heart for nature and green.
Those abandoned kitties are the hardest thing to deal with... it breaks one's heart and how can they ever fend for themselves after having been fed and then dumped?!
Sending you hugs,
Mariette

Tammy - a little bit of me dies every time I see a tree cut down, especially when it is for building space. I am very fortunate to live in a place teeming with trees and wildlife (a deer just walked through the "yard"); I just hope that it is something we can preserve for generations to come.

I don't understand why construction always seems to require the cutting down of trees. Can't the vehicles drive around them? Trees are so precious and take so many years to grow. We should conserve them! (Grrrr.)

What a lovely walk otherwise. Such a sweet kitty, and those tiles are so pretty in the light shining through the water.

Thank you for speaking up to the fishermen. I'm glad they were receptive to your request!

Is there anything more wonderfully serene than walking on the beach? And yours looks particularly nice with the palm trees and interesting architecture.

When longstanding trees are cut down for greedy developers, it depresses me.
