Monday Gratitude, Loss and Celebration

<
One of the Arabic teachers at school is grieving the loss of her daughter who died yesterday due to complications from H1N1. Our heartfelt condolences go out to her and her family.
Look to your health; and if you have it, praise God and value it next to conscience; for health is the second blessing that we mortals are capable of, a blessing money can't buy. (Izaak Walton)

One of my best friends, Lisa, had to recently put her dear Bassett Hound, Maggie Mae, to sleep. Maggie has had cancer for about a year and Lisa decided she did not want Maggie to suffer anymore. She decided it was time to let her go.

"No one loves you unconditionally as your beloved pet."
~Cynthia S. Dobesh.
I can remember when Zack was running around in diapers and a bottle in his mouth. Maggie was just a puppy and would chase him, pulling off his socks, or tugging down his pants when he would try to climb onto a chair or the couch. This is Zack and Maggie several years ago.

Maggie Mae will be missed!
On a happier note, today is a celebration. It is Zack's 11th birthday! Okay, I know, he doesn't look too happy here. I snapped this picture before we headed off to school this morning. I thought only girls were moody! Ha!

" Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace and gratitude. (Denis Waitley)

Blessings to you all and wishes for a wonderful week! Tammy

So sad about Lisa's dog. I know how much we love Sadie and how devastated we would be to loose her. ...even though she still smells a bit skunky....:)
I sent Zack an email card.Give him a pinch to grow an inch from me. ha!
I am missing you!

Happy Birthday to Zack!!

So sad to hear of the H1N1 death..... You are right... no matter race, creed or wealth we are equal by our health!! Nothing can buy it or guarantee it!!

Sorry about the loss of Sadie. I know how heartbreaking having to make that decision can be... :-(

Until Tomorrow!

Love,
Marilyn

Hi Tammy,

Many thanks for visiting me and it was great to discover your lovely blog.
Firstly, I am so sorry to hear about the death of the teachers daughter, how very sad.
Also dear old Maggie Mae, never easy having to say goodbye to our favourite pets, having lost both our dog and cat last year.

Wishing your Son the happiest of birthdays!
Having both a daughter and son they can be as moody as the other if they want to be.

I love the swans and signet photo.
Have a happy week

Hugs
Carolyn

Such sad news...and on a moodier note...YES, boys can be just as moody as girls but they typically turn it to a physial action whereas girls cry, whine...ect...ugh! pre teens. We're we like that?....lol

Hi! I was sooo pleased that you had found my blog, came by for a visit and left me such a nice comment! Always nice to meet new blogging friends!! So sorry to hear of your friend's loss. I will keep her in my thoughts. And Maggie Mae, many would say "just a dog", but I feel they are a part of our heart, and it is so very painful when we have to let go of them. Happy Birthday to your son!! Just one year younger then my own daughter. Don't they grow up fast?? I LOVE the picture at the end of the post with the geese and their goslings. How sweet is that!! I will be back again, thanks again for finding me. warmly, debby

Hi Tammy,
Just wanted to wish Zack a very Happy Birthday. Wishing him a wonderful day.

I would also like to say how sorry I am to hear about the teacher's loss. Can't imagine anything more difficult than losing a child.

And I'm also sorry to hear about sweet faced Maggie Mae. Pets become such a big part of our families it is very sad and hard when we lose them.

Wishing you a beautiful autmun day.

Blessings and Smiles,

What a sad posting. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family for the girl and your friend for her dog. Our ducky budth budth passed away last nite. I actually teared up. She was such a good quacker. And she always liked to cuddle up at the nap of our neck.
On a happier note, tell the little kangaroo Happy Birthday!

I'm sure Trixie has found a new playmate in Maggie Mae. It brings tears to my eyes tonight. So many gone that was loved.

I hope Maggie Mae is chasing a rabbit right now. It is never easy to put down a pet, but I am sure that Lisa is happy not to know that she is suffering anymore.
Sorry to hear about the teacher's daughter. I am sure it will take a while for the pain to subside, but with the help of good friends at school, I hope she will be able to move on and heal.
Happy belated birthday to Zack. He does not look happy at all in the picture. Could it be that tweenie years are coming??? We have SERIOUS tweenie issues in this house and it is not fun at all. It is only 8AM, and I have already been at it with my son today. BOO!! Hope he found something that made him smile about being 11!!

Love,
Renee
