Whipping Winds and a Little Stitching

When the weather forecast calls for "fresh winds coming from the north", that's code for dust.
The wind has been whipping around out there all day causing this little dove to hang on for dear life under very blustery conditions.
The little stitching was worked up this afternoon.  Cross-stitching was my favorite hobby for years and years until I got hooked on crochet, but I really want to get back into it, so am  starting small.
Poor Jingles!  She doesn't understand bad weather and has been driving everyone crazy begging to go outside.  The balconies are covered in a layer of fine powdery red dust again so she'll have to wait.

Hope your day is a good one.

Jingles doesn't like site-seeing. She wants to be part of the action!

And I thought we had a little wind and dust today. Nothing like this. Hope it stops soon.

I just cleaned all my outdoor furniture, if I had dust like that I would cry my eyes out. I know there is nothing you can do but grin and bear it, stay inside and do something cozy, but still, yuck! Hope the sun is shinning and the air is clear tomorrow, just in time for you to clean everything off, again.
Sending you a dust free hug,
Meredith

Sorry to hear about your dust storm. Looks like you were inspired by the pretty dove though; your cross stitch looks great and the colors match the one in your picture perfectly. Enjoy your weekend. Heather

Does a dust storm make it hard to breathe? Do you manage to stay inside? I think that would be the place to be.

So nice to visit with you again. I've been reading over your posts and catching up. I know I've been absent in Blog land this Spring :) We had high winds last week (well, it looks pretty windy out there right now too). It's getting hot now, so I guess we should be thankful for the breeze :)
Glad you're doing well.
Blessings,
Marcia

Love your little dove! I am a cross stitcher and find it so relaxing. Haven't been able to do any lately since I have been so busy. Maybe once I am out of school for the year. :) Kit

Dearest Tammy,

You did manage an amazing cross stitched dove on the Aida cloth! Lovely.
Poor little dove for having to beat the harsh elements.
Even Jingles does not understand what you are sheltering her for...
Hope this nasty weather will soon pass.
Love to you,
Mariette

Your cross stitched dove is beautiful. How sweet of the live dove to pose for you. More dust is just too much dust. Jingles needs an indoor atrium. Hoping for clear skies dear...

oh I wish you were here today. I was BEAUTIFUL. Low humidity and a chill in the air until noon....of course it got hot then but still lovely. I hope tomorrow is better so you and Jingles can venture outside.

Goodness, that top photo is beautiful, but a little forbidding. Guess you spend a day like that indoors with the windows shut tight, huh? :)

Oh my! That poor little dove and poor Jingles! Good thing you don't have a dog or you'd have to take it for walks in that stuff. Is that your worst weather there? Dust storms? Or do you have other things too like tornados or the heat? I don't imagine you have hurricanes or forest fires but each place has their bad weather. Just curious what else you have although that seems like enough and it's often too.
Great minds think alike! I was just thinking of cross stitch again too! I did it for years also and I saw a Cath Kidson book on stitching with some cross stitch roses and that got me going! Of course, now I have to order the book but I still have all my floss if they still use those colors! LOL!
We have a tornado watch until 11:00 p.m. tonight but so far so good. It's not raining or anything but we have an "unstable air mass" so they can pop up at any time. Hope you had a cozy weekend and that the dust did not permeate your home! I still think that is like THE best excuse not to clean...unfortunately, I don't have that excuse. In fact, there is probably more dust INSIDE my house than outside! LOL! Have a great week!
