The Last One

This is the last crocheted stone.  Guess I'll have to start walking again so I can look for more.  Problem is the temperature is around 115 during the day and 90 at night so there's never any relief from the heat.
Inspired by the art journaling I see other bloggers doing, I bought a watercolor book awhile back.  I took art in middle school (33+ years ago) and used to draw and doodle all the time.  It served me well as a kindergarten teacher when I wanted to create posters for my students to paint and color.  But since I stopped teaching about 6 years ago, I have found that the doodling does not come to me so easily.
Only a couple more days of school (I work in administration now) and then my summer vacation will begin.  I have a very long list of things I'd like to do.

Best wishes for a wonderful day!

This rock is pretty too. With weather like that, I think you might have to wait until Winter to find some more rocks. :)

Well, now that's the most ingenious use of a rock I've seen ever! It's understandable wanting to stay in, maybe a romantic moonlit stroll when it's down to 90! Today is 95 with 65% humidity in MN and we Scandinavians wilt when it's over 80!

Dearest Tammy,

Loved to see your crocheted rock stars all together now! You sure are a go-getter! Fun job and you did go along with its natural shape.
Enjoy your new day and sure you look forward to summer vacation!
As for the heat, we don't mind being active in the outdoors as long as we go straight for the shower and change once coming inside.
Love to you,
Mariette

I always admire crochet covered rocks, but actually never did one myself! Love yours though!
I have a month until my holiday! Can't wait!

How pretty the rocks are with their crocheted coverings. Two more days to summer time off ... how wonderful. Bet you can't wait. Expect to see many pretty rocks among other things. Blessings and joy.

I LOVE your crochet stones, Tammy! What a great idea! Kate (Cathy Johnson) is a fabulous watercolour art teacher. I took a Strathmore class by Kate earlier this year which I think is still available for viewing or download at the following link - http://www.strathmoreartiststudio.com/groups/group/show?groupUrl=workshop-2-cathy You will need to sign up to Strathmore but Kate's class is definitely worth it.

I look forward to seeing all your creations over your summer vacation. xo

Just realised the link may not work for you as, apparently, you need to be invited and I'm not sure how that works. :(

Lovely rocks you have created, perfect for displaying anywhere.
How fun to have a summer project which does not require a lot of activity in that heat.
Enjoy the last few days before your vacation.

Hi Tammy,
You must be picking up 'hot' rocks, if so send some over here. It's chilly for June and they would keep my feet warm.
I'm waiting to see your doodles in your journal!!
Hugs, Angela.

I look forward to seeing what you do with your journal... I think you are doodling just wonderfully with your crochet needle and yarn. ;) Love the rocks. I think that group of three will be wonderful together. Wishing you a cool breeze... t.

The rock reminds me of my grandma's crocheted bottles that I still have. She would find an old bottle she liked and then crochet around them. I still have many of the ones and I have to smile whenever I see them.

Wishing you a wonderful day.

You are very creative and I still can't figure out how you do those rocks...evidently I am anal and can only follow detailed instructions! Ha! Ha!
The book looks very interesting and I love to dabble in all kinds of things but mostly it seems I dabble in housekeeping.
So what are your plans this summer....do tell!
