Rainy Day

Rain is grace; rain is the sky descending to the earth; without rain, there would be no life.
John Updike

Today has been a blustery, cloudy, rainy, thunder and lightning kinda day.
The perfect day for a big bowl of comforting soup.
Tea with homemade cookies.
And a new project on the hook.
The Mulberry Shawl.
The pattern is a freebie found on Fiber Flux ... Adventures in Stitching
I used a J hook, rather than the K it called for, so am not getting the 16 inches across that I should.  I'm thinking maybe to start over and just make a scarf with the pattern, rather than a shawl.
If you like fabric and everything French, then hop on over to Mariette's Back to Basics to enter her fabric giveaway.
Hope you are having a great day!
Best wishes,

Soup is perfect for rainy, stormy days. Your oatmeal raisin cookies look delicious with your tea, too. And I love the soft, earthy, green and brown yarn you are using for your scarf.

Oh, I love the yarn you are using...I think the shawl is cute...it would be nice to use while you are curled up on the sofa crocheting. :)

I love rainy days...the sound of rain is so relaxing...and the Earth just seems to come alive after a good rain.

Blessings always

Hi Tammy,
I love the colors in your latest project. Lovely!

I like occasional rainy days but particularly, rainy nights where I'm all comfy-cozy tucked in at home. ♥

It's sunny blue skies here today with a temperature of 35 degrees. Looking forward to walking soon on my lunch. :) Hope you have a great remainder of the week.

Rain, oh how seet it would be to see some of that. We are still in an extreme drought here. Save some to water your inside plants. :)

Hi Tammy, It's been a dark, dreary, cold and rainy day here in New England. But I tried to make the best of it.

On days like this, it's important to make our own sunshine!

Take care, Tammy. Your soup and dessert look yummy. Susan

I bet you are enjoying your change in weather. Love stormy days when I can be inside. Can you just add a few more stitches or repeats to the pattern to make it wider?
Hugs,
Meredith

Hi Tammy...we live so far apart, but seem to be doing the same things.

I have a big pot homemade minstrone soup on the stove, just had cookies and coffee, and painted a picture for my Creative Tuesday Meme. Life is so fun and so full of blessings.

Hi Tammy,

We had thunder and lightening here yesterday, so must have been having similar weather.
The soup, tea and cookies, look like good comfort food.
Love the earthy tones in your crocheting.

Happy week

Rained here today too.......everywhere now covered with wet leaves as they are falling fast. I also made soup today, looking very much like your version - lentils and veggies etc. Nice to have soup on a damp day,,,,in fact any day.

Dearest Tammy,
Thanks for posting about my Giveaway!
Rain and thunder must be very rare for you to witness in your part of the world. But it sure brings much needed life to trees, plants and humans.
Funny, I am not used to the alphabet letters of crochet hooks, only mm of thickness. It is at times hard to get the desired measurements.
Hugs to you,
Mariette
