Thankful Thursday

Each new day is a blank page in the diary of your life.
The secret of success is in turning that diary into the best story you possibly can.
Douglas Pagels
Last year when our elementary principal left to take a new position in South Korea, I told him to send me a postcard.  And yesterday I received not just a postcard, but a puzzle that depicts Beautiful Hyangwonjong Pavilion.
New tea from a friend.  Green tea blended with cardamom, cinnamon, clove and orange peel.  Delicious!
So happy for another weekend.
With tea by my side and a hook in my hand.
Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort.

Have a terrific day!

I hope you have an enjoyable weekend, Tammy :) So nice to receive those sweet items from your friend.

I'm on my way home in a little bit, stopping first to see about some flowers for next weekend's big anniversary party for my parents, and then heading home to prepare Dad's birthday dinner. Already prepared the cake last night (a cream cheese pumpkin roll that is always a favorite). The month is already rolling by....

Enjoy!

Hi Tammy

And I like lemon grass in my tea :)

I liked the quote at the end of your post. Happiness that you get when you achieve something is only to be experienced and its more fun with a creative effort.

Take care
Aishwarya :)

Love the opening quote!

Did you friend make the postcard into a puzzle? And I'm trying to imagine the taste of cardamom ... not a spice I'm all the familiar with, although I've heard of it. Must explore it!

How nice to send you a little puzzle and a picture! The tea looks very good and healthy too. I've been drinking green tea also as I can't handle caffeine in the afternoon anymore so the rule is herbal after lunch! LOL!
What are you making? Are those strips of Granny squares? Sort of a "crochet" as you go blankie? Love your colors. I found a pattern over at Alicia Paulson's blog that I downloaded for $6.00 because I just loved her color combinations and I'm not very good at that part.
Enjoy your weekend! Looks like you are already! TTYL!

Lovely gift from your elementary principal. I love putting jigsaws together! They bring back a lot of happy family memories. My Mum would buy or be gifted with a giant and difficult jigsaw puzzle and it would take up residence on the table where the whole family would all join in, not necessarily at the same time, to help find pieces. I did the same thing with my own kids a few years back and we had a lot of fun putting it together.

The green tea sounds delicious! Perfect to have while you crochet.

Have a lovely weekend ~ xo
