Heritance Kandalama

On day three, we left Colombo and headed for Kandalama where we would stay the next two days at Heritance, an eco-friendly resort overlooking Sigiriya and Kandalama Lake.
While we signed in, we were treated to fresh juice.
And had a view of the infinity pool.
As well as the Sigiriya Rock Fortress.
The rooms are designed to invite nature in.
As evidenced by our daily visitors.  I wonder if they found us as entertaining as we found them.
While the kids settled into their room, hubby and I explored.  We walked to the Eco Park, came across a friendly game of cricket and visited the stable.

After the sun set ...
the full moon made a beautiful showing over the rock formations.
marking the end of our first day in Kandalama.

That was exactly one week ago today.
What a wonderful Wednesday it was.
Have a great day!

What a wonderful post of such an exotic place. The last photo struck me as a reminder...no matter how large the world seems the same moon shines on both of us.

I think I like your nature better than mine lately. Last night we had a big black bear who wanted to join us on our deck. I digress your trip looks so inviting and the monkeys look delightful. Have a beautiful day.

Hi Tammy....I had never heard of Kandalama before.

I wonder what kind of fruit juice that was. It looked like it was white...coconutty?

Lovely photos. The monkeys looked so cute! Susan

Dearest Tammy,

You at least have lovely photos with great and vivid memories of your stay in paradise. Isn't it soothing for being so connected with nature?!
Those monkeys we've observed many in India, and yes, one wonders if they love observing their cousins...!
Have a great day and we look forward to the rest of your stories.
Love,
Mariette

Gorgeous! What a peaceful and serene place. Your pictures were so great and I always love your moon pictures. Those were fabulous. I can almost feel like I'm there for a brief moment. The horses, red dusty roads and the signs reminded me of a trip to Belize I took years ago. What a beautiful spot on earth.
