Colorful Borders

We may run, walk, stumble, drive, or fly, but let us never lose sight of the reason for the journey, or miss a chance to see a rainbow on the way.

My rainbow today is in the form of all this colorful cotton yarn.
My first handtowels with crocheted border were given as gifts with a nice bar of soap.
One to Melissa's mother (who is visiting from the States).
And the second to Melissa (her favorite color is green).
The towels come from Ikea and only cost about .75 cents each.
So with my hook and a bit of yarn, they are getting the rainbow treatment.
Colorful borders in green, purple ...
blue and gold.
There's no pattern involved.
Just experimenting with a series of stitches until I come up with something I'm pleased with.

May you always find rainbows to brighten your day!

Best wishes and blessings,

These towels are great...IKEA is so good for these basics that can be spruced up with yarn or a bit of paint.

Are you using a sharp hook?

They make fantastic gifts, Tammy...and beautiful colours too!

Btw, I solved the mystery of the tree 'poop' and updated my post with the info. It was actually a Rust Fungus Gall which kills part or most of the tree. Interesting. Thanks for dropping by ~ xo

such lovely borders and the idea is wonderful for gift giving. Do you make the border and then attach it or crochet it through the towel?

Tammy, they're gorgeous! They look like those expensive ones you see in gift stores that cost and arm and a leg! LOL!
Look at all that yarn! Is it all yours? How wonderful! Edging is on my YOP list. How did you attach your yarn to the towel? Did you do a blanket stitch first? I want to do pillowcases with edging too. What weight is that yarn? The soap to go with it is such a perfect gift! Who wouldn't love that. I'm putting that on my gifts to make for Christmas and birthdays and whatever list. Thanks for the wonderful inspiration.
