Enjoying the moment

If you need a question answered, ask your fellow bloggers.
I appreciate everyone's input yesterday.

Today is the 11th day of Ramadan (the month of fasting for Muslims).
That means no eating or drinking from sunup til sundown.
And since our temps have been above 120 every day, being indoors is the best place to be.
One month from now, I will be back at school, so am enjoying the down time while I can.
More gift bags were crocheted today.
This time decorated with little granny squares.
Flowers have been stitched for more bags.
Anzac biscuits were baked for the very first time.
I was directed to a recipe site on someone's blog and wrote down the recipe, but unfortunately, forgot to write down the blog or the website.
1 cup flour; 1 cup oats; 1 cup dessicated coconut; 3/4 cup brown sugar; 1 stick of butter softened butter; 2 TBS syrup; 1 tsp baking soda. Mix.  Roll into balls. Place on baking sheet. Flatten and bake.

They are easy to make and very tasty with a cup of tea.
While I water plants early morning or late afternoon, Jingles revels in the moment.
Rolling.
 Sniffing.
Basking.
Have a joy filled week.

Jingles. Gotta love 'im.

The cookies sound great, Tammy, but I'd want to eat ALL of them.

Love the little bags. The light pink one on the far right is absolutely charming.

Take care. Susan

Jingles is adorable.

I'm missing Winston again today - Mr. Butters is so much more "lazy" than Winston was and doesn't come out easily when he's found the spot that he wants to lie in, which is frequently under Sarah's bed or in her closet. He is also hot or cold with the affection. I know we can't compare - no cat will ever be Winston - but I'm just feeling a little let down today.

The Memorial Stone arrived for Winston's grave, so we'll place that this morning. I'll have a photo of it on the blog in a day or so.

Blessings to you and yours,
Linda

Jingles is so cute...I miss my cat but no more...the 2 dogs are enough with the expense.
More good recipes to go with tea! Great cuz the scones are going fast! LOL!
Your bags are just getting prettier and prettier. I love the granny squares....and of course the cross stitch.

Hi Tammy,

Jingles looks so happy and is lucky to have a loving home with a/c to stay cool in.

I love your pretty little bags. You sure do whip out the projects in no time. It takes me forever to finish anything!

Jingles looks very happy in that last photo!

Ramadan must be much more difficult when it falls in the hottest season - how do people stay hydrated? My best friend in high school was Muslim, and I remember having dinner with her family during Ramadan - they knew to the minute when sundown would occur and had the meal ready to go exactly on time every night. :)

Kitty with a sun tan, I've seen it all! Can't wait to see the finished florals! Crafting inside is a great idea!

Oh my! Staying inside would be a good idea if you can't drink anything. I dehydrate so quickly when it's hot. Looks like Jingles is smart enough to get his exercise before it warms up. Your little bags are so sweet and extra special filled with goodies.

Dearest Tammy,

Great recipe, I will try that one as soon as I find time.
Jingles loves doing the same as what ours love doing after supper time. Rolling on the driveway... They are so happy doing that.
Enjoy your final month of down time and you are producing rather fast your lovely gift bags!
Hugs and love,
Mariette

Dear Tammy
Thank you so much for popping in to see me!
I actually carried my laptop to France and tried to set up an internet connection through Orange France... for some reason I couldn't get connected.
I fully intended staying in touch with you all, so it was v frustrating!!! Maybe my AVG virus protection was the culprit... no one knows!

How on earth do you survive in those temperatures, I would find it a real test...
Take care, lovely to see Jingles is still keeping you company Tammy!
hugs and love

ps glad you enjoyed the Anzac biscuits - did you know that the letters Anzac stand for "Australia, New Zealand Army Corp".

I hope you and Jingles are keeping cool Tammy! That is much too hot to be outside. I am thinking not eating on such a hot day would be easy, but not drinking? Not even water?? Oh my stars - will power!!

Those biscuits look good!

Jingles never fails to make me smile! I've had cats on my mind of late. Our neighbor had visitors staying with them from Italy and they took their cat here with them. Two nights ago, the cat somehow sneaked out of the house, and she hasn't come back yet. We helped search for the kitty yesterday, but to no avail. So sad, but I'm praying for a miracle for them.
Anyway, cookies look delish!

Anzac biscuits are Australian!!!! we make them all the time, but sandwich them with maple butter icing, or coffee icing... then they are super delicious.... my sister actually dips half of hers in chocolate... they are the perfect lunch box treat... hope you enjoyed them

Your stitched flowers are lovely. Good idea to stay indoors with that much heat. Looks like you are enjoying your vacation away from work. Jingles looks very content.

After all the scones this past week I think I need to stay off the biscuits.......but they look so good!

It must be difficult to go without fluids all day in that terrific heat. Of course I understand the fasting for Ramadan, but surely it's risking dehydration!

You really are quick with the cute bags Tammy - I think Jingles must be involved in the sewing process too!!!!!

Take care - Mary

Hi Tammy,

Love the sweet photos of Jingles and doing what cats love doing, relaxing in the sunshine.
We often bake Anzac biscuits over here and they are healthy with the oats.
Enjoy the rest of the downtime and you are doing some beautiful cross stitch and bags.

Hugs
Carolyn
