Another quick and easy project.
Combining cross-stitch and crochet.
The flower images are old since nothing much is blooming here now.
(The hydrangea photo was taken while in Michigan 2010.)
But yesterday, there were lots of flowers being created with needle and thread
Then combined with crochet to make pretty little gift bags.
I got a message today that I had exceeded my limit for free storage space, so did a big cleanup of my Picasa web album. This is the second time it has happened and both times it is because of unnecessary duplicates. Apparently, there is a way to change tool settings so that uploaded images won't be duplicated, but for the life of me, I can't figure it out.
Anyone know what I'm talking about?
Thanks! And have a great day!

The bags are so cute.
Go to Settings and select the posts and comments. There, select the show at most 7 posts per start page. It usually helps.
Have a great evening.

What beautiful little bags! Love the cross stitch piece on each one. You should sell these!
Love the bags! Absolutely darling with the embroidered patches :)
I just go in and delete pics. I don't have duplicates out there.
I love your bags....I like the cross stitch better than the crocheted design on front. You've taken your bags to a whole new level! They are just darling!
Love the flower bags. The combo of crochet and cross stitch is so charming. I received that same Picasso message...trying to clean-up, as well.
Cute little bags. Especially pretty with the real flowers of the same color. Diane
Beautiful bags..I just love the bright and bold colors. So very pretty.

OH MY, those bags are so pretty and I love how you've presented them in the post alongside a flower image.
As for Picasa....be careful when deleting images from your Picasa albums because, if they are linked to a post, the image in that post will disappear too. The only time I end up with duplicates is if I'm not happy with a photo and re-upload another to replace it which then puts a duplicate in the album. I haven't had a problem with Picasa themselves adding duplicates. Re. paying for storage...this is a common practise across the web with image storage once a quota has been reached. The prices are quite reasonable and charged annually. I would suggest you consider paying for the extra storage as you will reach a point when you'll be at the maximum quota again.
Have a lovely week,
Serena xo
Dearest Tammy,
Never mind your old flower photos but you show a remarkable resemblance with your cross stitched ones!
Maybe this link will help you out a bit, you can use the translator: http://bit.ly/L6NG6k
Hugs and love to you,

Hi Tammy,
Love your sweet bags and the pretty flowers, all such gorgeous colours.
Good luck with sorting out your web album.
Happy week

Love your little crocheted bags. I too have had to upgrade and now pay for picasa. If I had known before, I would have been more careful with what I was uploading.
Wishing you a beautiful day!
darling little bags!! funny, i just deleted close to 3900 photos from my computer this week and i am not done! i have not checked my Picasa albums to see if those pics i deleted were deleted there too? those kinds of things confuse me.....good luck with sorting that out.

Oh cheeze, Tammy. I don't know about that Picasa overload problem. I'm wondering if it will eventually happen to me, too. I love photos and have hundreds of them.
Cute bags. If you can't beat em, join em.....if live flowers won't do, crocheted ones will! Clever and adorable. Susan
Your little bags are very cute with their cross stitch decoration.
Pretty colours.
The bags are beautiful. Love the cross stitch, have to get back into that as well. Not familiar withthe photo thing ...
Gorgeous love the colour schemes. Beautiful cross stitch technique!:)
Cute bags! I love hydrangeas!
Blogger, owned by Google, automatically stores photos in Picasa to use on your blog. If you delete them in Picasa and have used them in your blog you will end up with the blank squares with a ? in the center on your blog posts - not fun or pretty! Google only allows a certain amount of free shared storage across all your Google accounts - when used up you have to buy additional storage. If you blog and, like me, take a lot of photos and upload them to your computer, you will eventually run out of free storage in Picasa. I've had to purchase storage annually but 2 yrs. ago Picasa screwed up and I lost access to my blog and had to start a new one after I gave up trying to fix things over several days of total frustration. I have never, ever dared to even look at Picasa ever since - I just buy the additional storage. If you've ever tried to communicate with Google in search of help you will know this is an exercise in futility!
Google storage has now changed with the new Google Drive (another thing I've no idea about). The previous annual storage rates were so cheap (I paid $5.00 annually for 20GB) but have ended. Now monthly rates have to be purchased - making more income for Google of course. After much debate with my hubby, last week I went ahead and signed up for the annual 100GB at $4.99 a month, a lot more expensive of course. It's an auto payment on a current credit card - which you must always keep updated on your Google a/c or you'll have another problem! This should be ample storage for me - I think there is a lesser amount for $2.99 a month. I just don't want to be cut short again and keep getting that nasty red message appear saying I'm out of storage!
Now all I have to worry about is my dwindling storage space on my MacBook and getting pics moved to a portable hard drive - that's a whole different ballgame!
Hope all this helps you Tammy. Electronic 'housekeeping' is becoming a big pain in you know what! Crocheting is much more enjoyable - those are the cutest bags with the cross-stitch flowers.
Hugs - Mary
P.S. Many Bloggers don't seem to know their pics are stored in Picasa which is Google - they think they are loading from photos on their computer. I don't understand the ins and outs of it all, I'm no expert, but previous problems I've had with photo storage in the 5 years I've blogged have made me realize two things:
1) Storage runs out and you have to buy more especially if you store a lot of photos on your computer.
2) Don't fool with Google because they will rarely, if ever, help you out or write anything clear and concise to assist you online.
Leaving on a bright note - Google people, if you read this I do thank you for making blogging available - without you I would never have found so many wonderful friends around the world, be able to share my life with those friends and family, and have a tiny legacy to leave for my grandchildren - my journal of sorts!
Tammy, bet you're sorry you asked that question, ha! ha!
I believe this is the longest comment I've ever left anyone!

Lovely embroidery and bags!
I too am at the stage of deciding whether to upgrade my Picasa storage. I can't delete any photos, because everything I've uploaded is on the blog somewhere. My problem is that I uploaded too many photos in a very large format (before I knew what I was doing) so used up my space very quickly. I'll probably end up doing the basic upgrade which is $2.49 a month, because I'm not willing to cut back on pictures. Good luck with yours!
hi tammy,
this is good advice, i'm afraid you will eventually have to purchase more storage space. you may be able to put your photos on an external harddrive and that may free up space though.
love your little bags, their really sweet!
Hmmm, mine are not duplicated. The only time I see a duplicate is when I re-upload one image. I have purchased extra storage space for a few dollars, and now I don't have that problem anymore.
Love blue hydrangeas and your flowers are so pretty!
xo
I had the same thing happen and deleted hundreds of photos. It only took 3 months for it to happen again which is why I switched to word press. I'm still bouncing between the two until I decided to pay for extra storage or not.
Your cross stitch and crochet bags are very sweet Tammy. The people who get these as gifts are very lucky people with all of the effort that has gone into making them. Have a wonderful week. x
Hi Tammy,
Lovely bags! :)
I think I'm running close again on blog photo storage and like others have shared, the only way around it (unless you delete the photos and then as mentioned, your older posts end up with "red X's" because it removes the photos from the posts) is to pay for extra storage. I've done that in the past on my old blog and will have to do it here shortly as well, unless I quit posting photos, but you know me, and that's not likely!! ;)
My Hydrangeas normally bloom all the way until the first frost but this summer has been hard on them and even with the daily watering, they're not doing very well, like they were earlier in the spring.
Aside from that, most of my flowers are looking pretty typical for the end of summer. I know, technically, "end of summer" isn't until September, but considering we've had hot weather here in east-central Illinois since March, it's been a very long stretch of heat. I water everything every day which keeps them going. It's a lot of work to water - normally takes me an hour every evening to get all of the front and back gardens, but it's worth it to see them continuing to thrive.
Hope you have a nice week.
Linda :)
Hi Tammy,
Sweet little bags, I think I would fill them potpourri. Such lovely gifts.
Have a sweet day, Elizabeth
