Simple Pleasure: Lazy Days of Summer

The kids finished school this past week. Temps have been above 120 and today we are in the midst of a dust storm. Thank goodness for creature comforts.

Next week I have three working days and then the school year is officially over and my summer holiday begins. Definitely something to be grateful for.

Ahhhh..... :) Hope you have a wonderful summer. We've been in the midst of laziness since May 27th and it's been wonderful. I was just thinking how easy life is for me with a teenager, whereas when she was little, I had to plan all sorts of play activities and now she just does her own thing, plans her own stuff, and I have a ton of free time.
Not the case though really for ths weekend - we're hosting a large reunion on Saturday so I'm off beginning at Noon today and not returning to work until next Friday. Woo hoo.

Happy weekend. Happy Summer to you my friend. :)

Good for you!...I was talking to my mother about my vacation time, and it seems I will be able to take a few days (5 only! :o( ) in December! Just to think about it makes me tired. Still so many months ahead! oh well...
good luck with the storm! It's finally raining here, and it's getting fresh.
have a great day!

Hi Tammy,
Yikes! High heat AND a dust storm? Here I am complaining about our heat and humidity...I don't know how I would act if dust was thrown in for good measure! I am so glad that you and your boys will be home and able to relax for the summer.

120???? Now, I have to figure out where you live. I was complaining about 100.

As a former teacher, I can definitely relate to the simple pleasure of the lazy days of summer.

Kuwait. Wow. I am making a mental note not to mention this to my nephew who is headed your way next month.

First..that is the SWEETEST photo ever! Love how relaxed they both look :-)

Yeppers..that heat is a real wiper-outer. My sis still lives in that heat (Lake Havasu Arizona) and in the summer, only does things in the very early morning or after sundown (yeah..when it cools off to an even 110!)
Take care ans stay cool!!

Have a wonderful summer break! I know what you are going through with the heat and dust. We got a good soaking rain last night, as the water poured off of the roof, it was pure mud water from all of the weeks that dust had been blown onto it. Hope you get a nice rain soon! blessings,Kathleen

Dearest Tammy,

Wow, what a heat, almost 50°C! That must be measured in the sun though as the weather forecast for Kuwait says 107°F which is 41.7°C. But surely, Jingles knows how to cope with the heat; they're smart and just relax...
Have a great Friday and hope the dust storm will not last for too long.
Here it is hot too; 95°F and still no rain. Things start looking very scorched and that for early June.

Lots of love,

Mariette

Definitely a day to stay indoors!!
You must be really looking forward to having a nice break.
I hope the dust stays out of the house and the heat lets up a bit, so you can enjoy your rest!
The photo is great- what a peaceful scene :-)
God bless you Tammy..

Hooray for summer vacation. Zack looks TOO happy to be home, and Jingles looks as though she is enjoying the company of the boys as well!! Three more days and you will be joining them. YEA!!
Temps are SO hot here, and tons of wind leading to too much dust. Texas won't be much cooler, but it I would like to think we can escape the dust! Not a bad thing!!
20 days and counting!!!!!!!!!!!!!

XOXOXO
Have a great weekend!

Renee

Dear Tammy, What an extraordinary life you have for yourself so far away from home. In reading past posts about the wonderful people and places you have visited, the constant thread found is your open heart. Each photograph of you shows a woman at peace with herself. Inspiring, truly! Elizabeth
