Benihana's and Bowls

It's 111 degrees with light haze (that means dust around here).

After two days in pajamas, it was time to head out into the real world.

So off we went to Benihana's for lunch.

A chef prepares your dishes at the table, performs tricks and tells jokes. They are famous for their onion volcanoes.

Afterwards a quick trip to True Value for spray paint where I was surprised to find a whole section of Moroccan pottery. I bought this pretty bowl for a friend and will gift it tonight along with the green doily I made some time back.

Back home, it was time for a bowl of apple cranberry crisp served with a dollop of ice cream and coconut spiced chai. Delicious!

Hope you are having a fabulous Friday! Friendship blessings, Tammy

So nice to hear of your pleasant and relaxing day. I love that bowl too. I feel for you with that sand. I know it is something you have to deal with but just like storms and wind and hale it's not nice. Weather is very nice here for a few days. Then escalating temps again. Blessings.

Seems that apple crisps are the thing lately. I've heard of so many girls enjoying them!

Lovely bowl, Tammy! The colors and design are so pretty.

Your lunch looks like 'fun'....with food! Haven't been to "Bennies" in ages, but do remember the onions!

Well, it seems you got two great jammies days recently. Now THAT is a good idea.

I stay in my pj's all day when we have temps below freezing ..... I would probably do that too if it was 111'!!! Yikes! I'm glad you got to go out for a nice dinner - I haven't been to Bennihana's since I was a kid :)

summersundays-jw said... Ck. this blog out -- she has lots of info on chalk paint. Love the pottery. Can't believe you found it at True Value. My True Value is the thing I'll miss most about my neighborhood. Chalk paint is really had to find -- mostly you have to order it. Have a great weekend & stay cool. Jan

Dearest Tammy,

Wow, heavy winds with dust and only 7% humidity... How do you keep your skin moisterized in such a harsh climate?! Food of course has a big impact, depending what you nourish on. For sure it also has an impact on your hair.
We have 38% humidity now, lots of wind too that makes it so dry. The one night rain didn't do much.
Your lunch looks good and I'm amazed at your True Value and also at what you found there. A great gift to take along with your crocheted labor of love!
Have a great Saturday and lots of love,

Hi Tammy,

Phew, that must be so hot and I would be wanting to stay indoors in my PJs.
The bowl and doily are so lovely and such a wonderful gift, for a friend.

Happy weekend

The heat and dust must be miserable, do you have to watch out for lung infections? I know in Az you do.
Your find at the hardware store was great, nothing like that here only Yankee candles :(
Nice to come home to a good treat too.
Blessings to your part of the world today

As I write this it is raining and chilly here. My husband is officiating an outdoor wedding this evening. We may be gathering umbrellas this afternoon. I love the bowl and I am sure your friend will too. The green doilie you made is the best part of your gift. I hope it doen't get too warm or too dusty. It seems that you get used to the dust.

Oooo, nuthin's better than a bowl of warm apple crisp with vanilla ice cream on top. 'Cept for adding a cuppa chai tea ;) Your doily looks beautiful, T, as is the Moroccan bowl. What a lovely gift.

Thanks for stopping by Tammy, I know I have not been blogging as much but I am still keeping in touch.
I do like your bowl.
It also sounds like you are having quite a heat wave it must be hard to cope with at times, I hope you can cool off a little to get through it. best wishes Julie.C

Wow...the heat that you have is amazing! I think I would not be able to handle it. I am not a hot weather type of girl... So glad you were able to get out and enjoy a nice meal. Sending you oodles of love and happy creating my friend...were you able to make any doilies for a bracelet or two?

Happy Father's Day! xoxoxo

I love a day in my jammies. I can't do more than one though unless I am seriously sick. An onion volcano? I should try and make one for Brennon, who loves onions!
hugs from me to you!
