Dinner at 8

Last night we had dinner with friends. Mood lighting made it hard to snap pictures.

Pasta with two sauces.

Fish cakes, salad and carrots with sesame.

Green tea and strawberry cobbler with cream for dessert.

I made a paperbag friendship book as a gift for the hostess. So easy to put together with scraps of paper, simple images, photos and quotations. The crocheted dishcloth underneath along with a candle and oatmeal raisin cookies accompanied the little book.

One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing and devote our attention to eating. ~Luciano Pavarotti and William Wright, Pavarotti, My Own Story

Hope you are having a fabulous Friday! Friendship blessings, Tammy

The table setting is simple and inviting and the menu the same. You can't go wrong with pasta! OR, strawberries.

I'm sure your gift was greatly appreciated by your hostess, too. So charming and lovely.

Hope your day is going well. It's already 75 degrees here and the sheets are hung out to dry!

Hugs

Cool and dreary still here. Waiting on sunshine. Maybe tomorrow.

Have a great weekend,

What a beautiful and thoughtful gift! You are such a generous soul. I do not "enjoy" my food as you so obviously do. I typically eat standing up, as if it's just a chore to get it over with. And I guess, for me, that's what it is. Saddens me when I see others make a ritual out of it. Somehow it just isn't in me.

I may need to clarify that statement. It doesn't sadden me that you make a ritual out of it. I think that's wonderful. It saddens me that I don't seem to have the capacity to enjoy eating with others. I'm kind of solitary that way.

You certainly made a special gift for your hostess! The food looks delicious and very healthy. Great idea for the green tea and strawberry cobbler! Healthy choices. Love the carrots with sesame. What a wonderful way to spend time together at a friend's place!
Hope you did stay well today with 45° C.

Lots of love from Georgia with 'only' 33° C...

Oh that table setting might be simple but it really looks great... I'm a sucker for candlelit dinners. And your food looks so good.

Agree... we must regularly stop to eat,

It's freaking amazing that you use to live close to me & now your across the ocean! From what I understand & have heard, no one was hurt from the explosion at the site. They did an evacuation of 5 miles, then it went to 1 mile the day it happened.
It's always nice to get together with friends for a visit. Take care.
