Inspired by Others

I had cherries.

I had mangoes.

So I made cherry mango crepes after seeing this post here.

I've never made crepes so they came out a bit thick but it was still a sweet afternoon treat that the kids and I enjoyed. They even said they'd like them for breakfast. The good thing is, crepes can be stored in the fridge for a day or frozen and heated when needed.

Yesterday, after visiting Bluebird Notes and seeing Koralee's post on Out of this World Cookie Bars, I had an urgent need to bake. Although I didn't have the ingredients called for in her recipe, I did have everything for oatmeal raisin cookies. Yum! Some have been packed in a recycled container ready to take to a friend tomorrow night.

The Around a Square Doily is now complete. I don't use cotton thread but a thin cotton so it came out bigger and more ruffly than Glor's did.

And , after a bit of a blog break, my cousin is back. She's the one who got me to blogging in the first place. You can visit her at Gwenny's Way.
Welcome back Chickadee! Hope you are all having a wonderful Wednesday. Friendship blessings, Tammy

Hi Tammy, your pancakes look delicious! You know that we (my family) sometimes we prepare breakfast for dinner! and people find it crazy! but by mid afternoon we gather for breakfast and lunch and marveled a few options here come the palate. Your crochet tablecloth is one of the most I liked that we've shown, cream looks beautiful, it's fun to spend with your cousin! greetings, Rose Marie

Your doily is beautiful, lovely work that you do. Every now and then I get the urge to create crepes. I never know if they're right or not - or if there is a right or wrong.
You're so photogenic, that's a lovely picture of you and your cousin. Looks like you were enjoying your time together. Diane

Hey Tammy,

I love to bake but have been restraining myself lately. I've pretty much kicked my "baked goods" habit and am losing a few pounds - :)

I wanted to let you know that I copied your bean salad recipe and am going to make it this week. It looks and sounds delicious! I was a strict vegetarian for many years and now only eat meat once in a very long while. Still, I can't claim to be a vegetarian any longer. It's definitely the right way to live, though and good for you for posting about it.

I grew up on crepes - I actually never had actual pancakes until i left home. I just discovered your blog and look forward to rummaging around your archives. We just moved from Canada to Ireland to Dubai and I'm slowly getting used to the sizzling heat (or does anyone ever get used to it?) :)

Dearest Tammy,

Great crêpes you made; never mind a bit thicker or not! The taste will be almost equal.
Wow, and eating that with 111°F or 44°C... Cherries I could eat endless; they're so juicy and yummy. We did have a saying in Dutch about 'it is only for a cherry period' meaning it is such a brief time around. That is so true but we all look forward to that annual feast.
Lots of love,

Mariette

Hi Tammy,

Pancakes are such a great breakfast and my husband sometimes cooks them on a Sunday morning.
The cherries and mangoes look delicious.
Good to see Gwen back and will go and say hello.

Mmmmm, your crepes and cookies sound delicious! Cherries aren't ripe yet where I live, but I am looking forward to them soon.

I wonder why the Pottery Barn lavender is clumpy/sticky? How fun to have sachets to fill.

Thanks for the nice comments you leave on my blog. I really appreciate them.

Didn't know that crepes could be refrigerated - handy to know, but usually there is nothing left :-)
