Sunday Salutations

Do you ever feel like you are just spinning your wheels? That's how I felt today. Somehow I was busy the whole day and yet accomplished nothing. There are so many things I want to do and yet I just don't know where to begin, so I don't do anything. Last year I was crocheting scarves like a madwoman. I had learned a new pattern and went to town with it.

I crocheted 20 scarves, big ones and skinny ones, that I donated to Operation Hope. I also made many others that I gave as gifts. There's still one in the works -- but it's been sitting for a year now and I've yet to pick it up. So instead, I do small things like these dishcloths. Two days ago, I visited a blog on which was posted the site "crochetnmore" for this dishcloth pattern and they had shown how they wrapped up bars of soap in it as a nice little holiday gift, tied up with a bow. I am so happy when I find a new pattern that is easy enough for me to follow.

I've made two and have another in the works.

I hope I can play catch up this week and get motivated to start making all the things I keep thinking about. I also need to clean and rearrange so that I can finally get the tree up this weekend.

In the photo above is a wooden Santa spoon that I bought at a bazaar several years ago. Not that I can paint, but I thought I would give it a go, so I bought the wooden spoons, but they are still sitting in a drawer. That's where most of my projects wind up these days. Tomorrow will be a better day! Wishes for a wonderful week. :) Tammy

Hi Tammy, I know what you mean about having so much to do and it becomes so overwhelming that you don;t do any of it. I have had a rather productive weekend, though. Sending energy and Christmas cheer!

Hi Tammy,
I think that the scarves was a wonderful project to have done for others to enjoy.
How I wish I would have learned to crochet from my mother. I see all the great things that all of you do, and it would be fun to join in the creativity.
Have a wonderful week!!!
Hugs~

Yes, sometimes we get so overwhelmed, don't know where to start so we do nothing. But hey, after crocheting 20 scarves, I'd be ready to give it a rest too! It will pass Tammy and before you realize it, you'll be back creating again! (( Judi ))

Hi Tammy,

I feel like this so often ~ have so much to do and often sit at the computer and spend more time there, than I should. My daughter and I put up the Christmas tree, so that is always fun.
I like it that you are making scarves and dish clothes.
I hope that you have a happy week and good luck working through your list.

Hugs
Carolyn

Sometimes days like you described are good for the mind, body and soul! A good day of "doing nothing" is still a good day.
I didn't get much done today. We drove 3 hours to Hermann, MO this morning so my son could participate in a bicycle race (and yes it was cold), stood in the cold for over an hour watching the race (he got 4th) and then a 3 hour drive home....too tired now to do much of anything before work tomorrow...except chat with my blog friends!!
Have a great week.

I remember year (and years) ago when my Grandmother tried to teach me to crochet. I'm left handed and she had a heck of a time. I finally got the hang of it enough that I crocheted dresses for my Barbie. I never made anything as beautiful as you though. Thanks so much for visiting my blog. Your comments are appreciated very very much!

Girl,
DON'T EVEN GO THERE! ;)
I tell you all of the time that I have no idea how you do all the stuff you do! Everyday you are doing or making something sooooo fun!!! And I'm soooo jealous!!!! :)
I'm sure you just needed a day off from it all. Your brain finally said "ok Tammy, I haven't had a vacation day since forever!"
I'm right aren't I??? You'll be back to creating in NO time flat...I have all the faith in you!!! {smile}
I love those little dishcloths...they are the latest rage and I love mine that were given to me. They make such a wonderful gift.
Speaking of I don't know how you do it all, I have to get up and get to work now...my playtime is over...(pout pout).
I'll be back tomorrow to see what your next master piece will be! :)
Have a great week friend!!!

Tell ya what - I'll come to your house to help if you come to mine! I, too, feel as though I am spinning my wheels☺ Let's see, if I put my shoes on now how long do you think it will take me to get to your place☺

I've got something really cute that I'll blog about Tuesday morning. I think your boys might not find it too juvenile to help you with this and it's cute as a button! In fact, use your imagination - put some buttons on it, too!

Please teach me your crochet stitches when you come over next. I think that is a great idea to make and donate scarves. I will start making some now , make them all year and then donate them to a few places. I love to make scarves but I think to myself I have already given about everyone I know one... so why make more... now I have a reason. Hope your wheels stop spinning. :)
love , hugs and blessings!

Fun projects. Some days are like that for me too. I'll sit down thinking I'm going to get a lot of jewelry made and it takes me forever to design it and then make it! And then there are times when I can pump out one piece after another. Oh well, I guess those times balance each other out.

Hi, Tammy,
Don't feel like you are alone in not getting projects accomplished. I bought several "crafty" type things to work on several weeks ago and there they still sit. I don't have my tree up yet either. Hopefully, I will get motivated soon!! I think the crochet pattern is such a lovely stitch and to wrap soaps up in them is a great idea. Many blessings and much love to you!! Vicki

The dish cloths are gorgeous! You're so talented!

I have lots of unfinished projects. I also keep a folder with things that catch my eye - either things I want or want to make, but somehow I never get through all of those things. That's life for me and that's okay. The important items get done. ♥

My weekends lately have been very similar to your day today. Lots of running around, getting boys to where they need to go, and then little things to keep the house going. Cooking, laundry and all that stuff... I manage to get my walks in, but not much more than that. I know you well enough to know that you will get all your projects done. Hope you have been able to get some of your started projects finished!!

Love ya,
Renee
