Pumpkin Pie for Dinner

Thanksgiving was always a big family affair when I was growing up.
And when my boys were younger we had many families to share the holidays with.
But everything changes, people move away and big meals don't seem necessary anymore.
There is, however, one thing that I just can't do without.
Pumpkin pie!
I had two pieces for dinner while watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Best wishes and blessings to one and all!

Happy Turkey Day to you my friend! My day's been a disaster starting last night...long story...family drama and then I WAS making my pie and threw in some evaporated milk that was (accidently) from 2011! Ick!!!! Ruined my baked pumpkin, no pie except I'm thinking there was a reason I bought that mincemeat!
Crazy day, so...the phone is "unplugged" and my neighbor just so happened to bring me over a plate of goodies.....didn't even get the turkey cooked....didn't feel too good either....the best laid plans! LOL! So, since I live alone...I am pretending tomorrow is Thanksgiving! Ha! Ha!
Plus, the stores will be open in case I mess up again! I'm so glad someone had some pumpkin pie! LOL! The best laid plans...NOT! I think I need a "keeper" as in "zoo keeper"! TTYL!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
We too hosted large Thankgiving meals over the years where we invited family, neighbors, and friends. I no longer do this but thankfully the younger members in the family have chosen to continue the tradition. Today's get-together was perfect with famiy and a few of the hosts friends.

Hi Tammy...Glad you had two pieces of pumpkin pie. It is so delicious.

One of my sisters brought pumpkin cheesecake, another made pecan pie with real whipped cream, there was chocolate mousse, carrot cake, cheese braid, and on and on. WAYYYYYYYYYYY too many desserts.

I told my husband to get that pecan pie inside the fridge in the man cave FAST. That's one of my favorite desserts and it's decadent and FILLED WITH SUGAR.

Hope you have a good Friday! Susan

I ended up with egg custard pie at the restaurant - it was good! Of course I also had fish as I don't eat turkey, not traditional, but still tasty.

Yes, my days of cooking those huge meals for many is over I'm sorry to say - miss certain aspects of it but definitely not the clean up!

Hope your day was fun Tammy.
Hugs - Mary
