A Favorite Thing: Candle-Lite

Today I am once again joining Claudia at Mockingbird Hill Cottage for A Favorite Thing Saturday.
Candle-lite is a company based in Cincinnati, Ohio that has been manufacturing candles since 1840.
Pumpkin Nutmeg Pie
Cinnamon Apple Crisp
and
Creamy Vanilla Swirl are my favorite scents.
Buying these candles is like getting two gifts in one because you are left with a very nice jar once the candle is finished.  And the best part is it doesn't take any elbow grease to get the label off.
With my handy hook and some cotton yarn I am able to crochet jar cozies.
Put a big tealight candle inside.
And then I have a nice handmade gift for a friend or co-worker.
Another plus is they are made in the USA so if you are looking to support American made products, then I highly recommend Candle-Lite.

Have a great day!

What a great idea, Tammy! You have a wonderful candle to enjoy, then you are able to recycle it with your wonderful crocheting as a gift for friends. Perfect!

Thanks so much for joining in this week.

Dearest Tammy,
Guess what? I do prefer your version with the tea light versus the ones you showed with the label on. That must be cultural as in The Netherlands we seldom had those scents. Dutch candles are more plain and they use LOTS of them, all from beeswax. I love the French, gardenia scented Point à la Ligne but they are more expensive too.
Enjoy your version and make others happy too.
Hugs,
Mariette

Hi Tammy.. great idea! Question.. how do you get the wax cleaned out of the jar so nicely? I have done one crochet jar jacket and I did it on an aqua vintage Ball jar, which I love. I love candles!
((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Hi Tammy! I have had on my "To Do" list for ages to try making a crocheted jar cozy and am always motivated when I see one on your posts. Well, I just finished one as I was determined not to scroll past your post in my Google reader until I completed one. :) Thanks for the push!

I didn't have any jars but used a small canning jar. I will start saving jars of various sizes.

Kindly, Lorraine

Hi Tammy...I love candles, too. My faves are made by Yankee and Village. I've heard of the ones you highlighted and know they are fragrant, too.

Take care and have a wonderful rest of the weekend. Susan

I'll be sure to look for these candles - they sound won-der-ful!!! And here you have given them a 2nd life as a pretty gift - so creative, Tammy!
I wanted to let you know that I finally bought some crochet yarn and am trying to re-learn how to crochet. It's only been 37 years since my last project! :)
Have a great Sunday, Tammy!

Lol! I've recently been saving a few candle jars for this same reason! My hubby asks me what I am saving them for...since I haven't gotten around to crocheting my cozies...I'll have to show him yours. Very pretty!
