Another weekend and already one full day is gone.
Last night hubby and I went to visit friends we had not seen in quite some time. I made chocolate chip cookies and took a couple of my crocheted dishcloths as gifts. Before we left, Jingles had already taken up her usual spot next to Zack for the evening.
We've had pretty good weather since the dust storm on Saturday and Sunday, but there's definitely more dust out there. Yesterday's sunset did not have that golden glow like it did on Wednesday
And yes, that is the sun, not the moon. When it looks like that, you know there is dust high up in the sky. Today, there was also some cloud cover. This is what the sun looked like at about 5 pm. Going, going, gone ... in a matter of seconds.
I've had a quiet day at home. Lots of crocheting, some baking and blogging. While visiting Traude at Rostrose , I learned of a free photo editing software called Photoscape. All my collages today were done using the free download which was quick and easy to use.
Wishing you all a great start to your weekend.

Oh hi, Tammy - will dust never leave your neighbourhood? I really thought you show us photos of the moon... But the images look quite pretty - how fine that you could use PhotoScape for your collages!
Warm hugs, Traude
PS:
I hope you will find Romaneco for the receipe - if not you may use broccoli or cauliflower...
Sleep well, my dear!

Wow - that does look like the moon!
I am off to check out Photoscape - love your collages!

It seems so odd that your weekend is ending just as ours is beginning. How lovely to visit friends and how sweet to take homebaked cookies and your beautiful hand crocheted dishcloths. I must try that muffing recipe from a few posts back that I somehow missed. Wonderful week to you dear...
Amazing pictures of the sun and dust. Have a wonderful week,
Meredith
I really like the moon photos too. Your weekend is Friday and Saturday?
Wish I had some chocolate chip cookies to munch on right now :)
Neat pictures! I took one of the sun through dense fog, it looked like the moon too.
Jingles is WAY smart....cuddle up with Zack and purr.
I like your new photo images.....nice program! They have a clean and crisp look to them.
We're having 70 degree weather here which is so strange, but I'll take it. Glad to see your dust storms are not as bad. At least you can get outside a bit. Did you plant the seeds yet?
Have a great rest of your weekend.
I love those photos! Thank you for sharing Photoscape, I must check it out!!!
Hope your weekend is fab!!!
Love and hugs,
LS xo
Hope the second day of your weekend is wonderful, Tammy. Have FUN! Susan
That's a lot of dust....sure looks like a moon photo....kinda eerie knowing it's actually the sun. I guess you're used to it.
I love how you're portraying your images in collage form.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Serena xo
We haven't had much sun this week either but ours is due to tons of rain. The weeds are growing like crazy but they PROMISE the sun will come out tomorrow (I think I've heard that before). Jan
Thanks for the tip on the photo editor! :) Jim just installed Corel PhotoShop for me and it's great, but I hadn't found a way to do collages other than Picnik which is closing soon, so thanks!
It's difficult for me to think about the end of the weekend yet (and our Spring Break) - it's only Friday night here and I'm enjoying some peace and quiet while both Jim and Sarah are away (Jim drove to Toronto to visit his daughters and Sarah is in St. Louis with the High School band for 2 days of fun). But tomorrow night, the peace and quiet will end around 10:00 p.m. when I pick up Sarah from the school on her return and it will be a rowdy sleepover night starting late at 10:30 p.m. with some of her friends here. Jim won't return until Sunday evening.
I've enjoyed a wonderful week off and haven't thought of work at all. It's funny like that, I never miss it at all. I posted about our trip to Chicago and all of the photos on the blog (well - some of the photos, since I took probably close to 500 and didn't include all of those).
Hope you have a great new week,
Linda
Gosh - anyone that brings freshly baked cookies with them is welcome in my home any day! ;)
Wishing you a happy weekend!

Great images of the sun Tammy - it's looking a bit like our grey stormy skies this week!

What a thoughtful gift to bring to your friends. No wonder you have so many friends :).
That sure does look like the moon in your photos. Hopefully all of the dust will be gone soon.
Thanks for sharing the link to the photo editing site. I'll have to check it out.
Beautiful pictures but is not very fun with more sand. I hope you have a nice weekend.

Hi, Tammy, all of your collages are wonderful. I especially love your sky views. Yes, these weekends go by in quite a hurry. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Blessings always~Vicki p.s. Thank you for letting me know about Photoscape. I hope to give it a try.
How hard the dust must be on everything. I know it gets dusty at my sister's in AZ and the grit breaks down the rugs and fabric.
Great pictures!
Wishing you a wonderful week
Blessings
Rebecca
Sounds like a great weekend, except for the dust! I don't know how you do it. I am going to go and check out Photoscape. Need something to replace Picnik. Thanks for the tip! Kit
I hope you are having a great weekend too my friend. Thank you so much for posting the link to Photoscape...I will have to check that one out.
sending hugs...
What a lovely gift for friends. They must have been delighted!
I'm going to start patterning my weekends after yours! They always sound so relaxing. Your pictures of the sun are gorgeous as here it would be too sunny to take a picture of it! LOL! We've had rain too which we needed but it's been beautiful for the past 2 days so I'm working outside on planting flowers and repotting the indoor plants. Trying to get some crocheting in too!
