Bday Month Day Two, Groundhog Activity and some Creativity

It looks like most of you folks out there are in for a bit more winter weather according to Mr. Groundhog himself.

I saw my shadow when I was on my Saturday walk around the neighborhood, but it's been rather dreary and gray since, with little spurts of rain here and there.

In January, Elizabeth at Creative Breathing posted about Betsy McCall paperdolls. You can read her post here and find out about these paper dolls that can be printed for the year you were born; each has its own story with it. She made a tag with hers. The site also has calendar clipart that I printed out, so this evening I made a collage with my birth announcement and a picture of me as a baby.

I've also been trying to work on all the glass jars I've been saving. Using bits of this and that, graphics and decoupage glue.

I will fill them with chocolates and give them to friends at school.

A good way to recycle and spread a little joy in the process.

Speaking of joy, Linda at Over the Fence left me an award the other day which I have not gotten to yet.
I have to answer 35 questions with one word answers and then pass it on to three other blogger friends. I think I will save that until tomorrow as it is already past my bedtime and I have many messes to clean up before I can hit the hay. DH has been away on a business trip and I thought I would get soooooo much accomplished while he was away. He's gonna come back and think I've been in that hole with Punxsutawney Phil. Ya'll stay warm and have a wonderful Wednesday! Blessings, Tammy

Dear Tammy,
I see your shadow and it is making me misty eyed. I miss you! Lately I have been weepy and sentimental. Because I am another year older perhaps? Because winter makes me blue perhaps?

Anyway.. Love your Baby collage of you. Are you going to frame it and hang it? What a cute baby you are. the glass jars are looking very lovely.

Hi dear Tammy,
thank you so much for your birthday wishes and happy birthday month to you, too. what day exactly is your bday?
Wish you a whole month full of happiness and endless blessings.
Love the way you decorated your jars. they are sooo lovely and how sweet and caring of you to fill them of chocolates and give them to friends at work. your friends are so lucky and very blessed to have a special friend like you.
BTW Congrats on your award. so much deserved as your blog is fabulous and I greatly enjoy each and every visit even though I must admit with much regret that haven't had as much time as I would have liked to stop by this wonderful and inspirting bloggy world of yours. Life can get so hectic at times that time is never enough.

Tammy, what a nice posting. I forgot it was groundhog day. I'm sure we'll get lots of weeks more of snow here in Massachusetts. Your jars are really special and pretty! I have been scraping and soaking lots of jars. They are little wonders for organizing or gifting. Wow, Betsy McCall paper dolls--that brings back the old days. I'm going there now. Have a great day! No matter what that stupid Ground Hog says we always have 6 more weeks of winter. Most often even more. I can remember blizzards in April!!
I guess all this snow makes us appreciate summer when it finally gets here....
Hope you have a peaceful evening!!
Love,
Marilyn

No shadows here. It has been SO overcast the last few days. It was supposed to rain yesterday but not a drop came. This morning, it is pouring and is supposed to do that for the next two days. Possible flooding. BOO! Needless to say I was on the treadmill yesterday and not hiking the hills...
Your birth announcement is lovely. What a neat idea. I would love to see the look on the faces of the people at work who get the chocolates in the cute little jars. What a lovely idea!!
Good luck getting your messes cleaned up. The next few days for me include a lot of running around. BOO! Meeting today, library time tomorrow morning, lunch with a friend, and then a meeting at 5:30PM across town. YIKES!! I'll get through it all, as will you!!
Love ya,
Renee

So pretty Betsy McCall!! so nice to see the fashion of different eras in time. I don't think, though, that she ever made it to Guatemala. Great post!

Hi Tammy! I tried to comment yesterday and my computer wouldn't let me---silly computer! Thanks for your visit and sweet comments...you're always so nice to me.

I agree--I love each birthday, too. I'm one of those who doesn't care about wrinkles & gray hair--it's a badge of honor in my mind! (Not that I want to look old, mind you--I just don't feel the need to cover up who I am!) I feel better about myself each year, too--that's a great thing, isn't it?

Hope you're having a beautiful day--talk to you later!

Happy Birthday Month! We always celebrate all month long. Your jars are So pretty. Thank you for your visit this morning. Yes, that was another stripey afghan in half double crochet. I have found that to make that pattern really interesting you need at least 5 colors. If you have any questions feel free to email me. Have a nice day! Twyla

Hi Tammy,
Yep - he saw his shadow. But that wouldn't matter here, because spring doesn't start until May. :)
Love you glass jars for gifts - very sweet. I collect jars too. There are so many fun ways to use them!
I hope you have a wonderful day!

I love what you're doing with the glass jars...I have so many laying around that I really have had no clue as to what to do with them...I saved a ton of baby food jars, and those would be cute all dolled up like the ones you've made...thanks for the inspiration!

Don't think Phil would like it too much here. Wish we could have just better weather instead of this mugginess. Are those tomato's on the ground. Did someone just dump some tomato seeds on the side of the road?? Too funny! I am just loving the jars that you are making. I'm sure your friends at work will be touched by yout thoughtfulness and creativity and I am not surprised that you recieved another award. Looking forward to what kind of questions you'll be answering. Your collage for your birth announcement is adorable and is something I think I'll make for my daughter when her bday comes in March. She's always complaining that I do crafty things with my friends and not for her. She got me on that one. So this year, I will be very crafty for her big 2-0 and I have all your blogs to steal ideas from...lol!
