Time in a Bottle

"Guard well your spare moments. They are like uncut diamonds. Discard them and their value will never be known. Improve them and they will become the brightest gems in a useful life."

One of my favorite songs growing up was "Time in a Bottle" by Jim Croce. No matter how much time passes, it's a song that I always remember the words to.

If I could save time in a bottle
The first thing that I'd like to do
Is to save every day
Till Eternity passes away
Just to spend them with you

If I could make days last forever
If words could make wishes come true
I'd save every day like a treasure and then,
Again, I would spend them with you

But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do
Once you find them
I've looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go
Through time with

If I had a box just for wishes
And dreams that had never come true
The box would be empty
Except for the memory
Of how they were answered by you

But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do
Once you find them
I've looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go
Through time with

In this New Year, I intend to use my time more wisely; to make every minute count; to accomplish something every day whether it be creative or organizational; to give of my time to help another.

"The time which we have at our disposal every day is elastic; the passions that we feel expand it, those that we inspire contract it; and habit fills up what remains." ~ Marcel Proust

Wishing you much happiness and time for all that is important to you. Peace & blessings, Tammy

Beautiful post.
You are so right about 'time'.
As my son turned 4 a few days ago, I got a little emotional about it. It just all seems to go so fast.
I need to slow it down and savor it.
Blessings to you and your family.

That has always been a favorite song of mine as well. It makes me think that my time is well spent when it's spent with someone I love or someone that needs a little love.

Happy New Year Tammy!

I see you already started your resolution this is extraordinary little musical that you just gave us. I probally know the song but have to hear it first. I haven't even thought of a resolution let alone put it to the works. Just to take each day as it comes and live it the best I can...like eating sugar cookies when I shouldn't:)

What a wonderfully thoughtful post for today. I love how creative you are with your thoughts on your post. I never know what to expect, but always enjoy what I come away with. I have little doubt that your new years resolution will become a reality for you. It is a good one, and I am sure you put a lot of thought into what you would like to accomplish this year. I am shooting for good attitudes and staying positive on a daily basis. Sounds simple, but I am sure it will be challenging at times. HA!
Hope your new year brings you everything you hoped for!!

Love ya,
Renee

Great post! After I just posted about my slacking since Christmas, I needed this.
I saw Blindside also, it was very touching, it really got me at the end when they showed photos of Michael and the family. What an inspiration! To make such a difference in someones life!
