May you find beauty in your surroundings ...
and contentment in the simple things of life.
This morning I made brownies for a friend's birthday. Another favorite and fool-proof recipe.
Deep Dish Brownies
3/4 cup melted butter
3/4 cup sugar
1-1/2 tsps vanilla extract
3 eggs
3/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8 inch square pan (I normally use a 13x9 inch baking dish). In a large bowl, combine butter, sugar and vanilla. Beat in eggs one a time. Combine the flour, cocoa powder, bp and salt and gradually blend into the egg mixture. Spread the batter into the greased pan and bake about 40-45 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from the sides. Cool and cut into squares.
Even Zack's 6th grade class at school said these were the best brownies ever! Have a blessed and beautiful day! Tammy

Beautiful thoughts, Tammy & a yummy looking brownie recipe, too! Hope you're enjoying a wonderful weekend with your family!
YES! These brownies were very yummy and I was fortunate enough to be at the receiving end of them. Lucky for me I had enjoyed a few, because upon my return when I left the house today to take Naser to a bday party, there were only 4 pieces left out of my canister that you gave me. I guess better in the backside of somebody else, right:D
Those brownies sound yummy! I'll have to try your recipe. Thanks for sharing!
Hello, sweet Tammy,
Your pink post really brightened my day! Thank you! Geraniums are one of my favorite flowers, and as soon as they arrive at the garden center in the spring, I usually buy several hanging baskets of them! I have a real weakness for Brownies, and your recipe sounds easy and delicious! Happy Pink Saturday and enjoy your weekend! Vicki
Lovely Pink Flowers. Brownies sound delicious. Thanks for sharing.
Happy Pink Saturday.
Those geraniums are gorgeous and one of my favorite flowers!! AND I have been so hungry for brownies lately! I will have to try these! Thanks for the recipe.
Blessings~
It is amazing to find out about life in Kuwait and to know that boys play baseball even there! The brownies sound yummy!!!
If 6th graders think the brownies are good then they must be the best brownies ever! Thanks for the recipe. My husband had a huge craving for chocolate tonight...I could have used those brownies...I had to run to the grocery store for chocolate ice cream instead (and also picked him up a box of new chocolate Cheerios).

HI Tammy
Thanks for popping over my way...
Your brownies look delicious!! I'm sure there will be a few people enjoying these today... Take care and thanks again. Julie
Happy Pink Saturday a day late! I had to go out yesterday to chop ice on my sidewalk and didn't get around to visiting all of the blogs. Thanks for the recipe! As you must know - I love to collect recipes☺
Yes, we must be content in the small things because the large ones don't come around all that often. It is the small blessings that are the most precious: the smile of a baby, the sun peeking out from clouds, fresh laundry, a well baked pie, a child's giggle - I could go on forever...
I sure could go for one of those brownies. Guess who is tired of dieting already!
Yes, the simple things in this life certainly are the most wonderful. I take such pleasure in the walks I take, the quiet house on the weekends, and my time to do my crafty things. After two days of rain, you would not believe the pleasure it was to see the sun on Saturday. It has been a nice weekend here, and hope it has been the same for you.
The brownie recipe is one that I don't have yet. Do I need to ask if Melissa was excited to see your brownies?? HA! Your blog is a wonderful way to spread your culinary talents. Good for you!!
Hope you enjoyed one of the brownies before you gave them away!!
Love,
Renee
