Friday Market

Today was a beautiful day with mild temperatures, blue skies and sunshine. We dropped Zack at the field for baseball practice this morning and then headed over to "Souk al Jumaa" or the Friday Market. There was a nice display of the past that an older Kuwaiti gentleman put together. Sam said there was a write-up in the paper about it.

And, of course, there was shopping ... and buying!

I want to brighten up my kitchen so these tin items will do the trick. Tomorrow will require a lot of cleaning and organizing as not much of that got done today.

We met friends for lunch. This restaurant doesn't look like much. Only 4 tables in the place, but we had to wait 45 minutes to be seated and there was a waiting list after us. Yummy Thai food!

Another little shopping trip where I picked up this trunk I saw last week, and then we came home. I cleaned a little, very little. We walked and now it is nearing bedtime so tomorrow will be a marathon cleaning day.

I hope that all of you will have a warm and wonderful weekend! Peace & blessings, Tammy

Oh Tammy, it is so nice to read about mild temperatures, blue skies and sunshine and to see your colorful photos while it is snowing and snowing and snowing and everything is white in Lower Austria ... :o)
I wish you and your family a wonderful weekend - Hugs, Traude

Looking at these photos just shows you how we are all so much alike, with the Flea Market type shops. I think the floral enamel ware and the trunk are lovely.

Tammy ~ The flea markets look so interesting and you find some marvelous goodies. Love the enamel ware with the flowers.

Caught up on some of your previous posts and want to say Bless Your Heart for feeding the uncared for cats in the street. Definitely know I would be doing the same - it breaks my heart to see them hungry and thirsty.

Have a Beautifully Blessed 2010...

Wow! I so love that trunk!!! It is gorgeous and just the right amount of chippy paint and the raised carved area is really special. Nicely done, lady. Too bad I didn't see it first. lol
Have a lovely weekend,

Would you believe I never went to the Friday Market while in Kuwait?? What a shame, as it looks like a great place. It sure looks like you had a nice day today, and came home with lots of nice new things as a result. What a wonderful way to spend your day. I stayed in today, as it never got above 31F. BBUURR!! I finished a book I have been reading and totally enjoyed a lazy day. Hope you got a chance to relax a bit when you got home!!

Love,
Renee

The tins items you bought for your kitchen are so pretty--a splash of color they will indeed add. The flea market looks very interesting. I'm inneed of a look through some local thrift stores since we have no garage or yardsales in the winter.

We hope to see the sun this weekend. Yeah!!!

Hugs Aunt Elaine

Hi,Tammy,
I would love to have gone shopping with you all at the Friday Market. I think the tins you purchased are very pretty and will brighten up your kitchen. I love Thai food, too. We have a very good restaurant here that we like to visit. I need to be cleaning out closets but can't seem to get into the spirit. Don't work too hard and enjoy your weekend, dear friend! Vicki

Thank you so much for taking us to the Friday Market with you. The enamel pieces really caught my eye! What fun!! A little different scenery from Illinois, USA.
As I am sitting here typing, I am listening to a few of my favs. Sara McLaughlin and Sugarland, thanks for the good tunes too!!! Have a great nice warm weekend (we are freezing here -9 this morning).

I almost went this Friday and I think I will be sure to make it this week. Love the things you found adn you always have a way of putting things in the right place and STILL finding the space for it. Can't believe you actually waited 45 minutes to be seated. Food must of been really good. Now you've peaked my curiousity and I will have to try this out.
