Meet Bob

Hello there!  I hope your week is off to a great start!
Our weather has been pretty near perfect lately with cool mornings and evenings and very comfortable afternoon temperatures.
I've only managed a bit of crocheting the past couple of days.  These little pouches are so easy to make and can be filled with small gifts, chocolate or baked goods.
If you are in need of some inspiration, you must read the story of Bob, an 82 year old man in Allendale, Michigan who crochets for charity.  I love the article and what he said about crocheting versus an iPod.  I happened upon his story when I came across a new to me blog called Insomniac With a Hook.  She calls Bob her hero.  He truly is an inspiration and a role model.
Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.  Rabindranath Tagore

Have a wonderful day!

Hi Tammy...At first when I read your post today, I saw the headline "Meet Bob" and then I saw the cat.

Oh, Tammy has another outdoor cat and this one looks like Jingles, I thought.

Wrong. That WAS Jingles, correct? And Bob is the inspiring man in the story. Loved it.

Thanks for sharing and enjoy the magnificent skies of Kuwait. Susan

Bob is a great inspiration...reminds me of my 73 year old dad helping my mother with all her quilts she does for cancer patients...yea for men who give back in whatever way.

Thanks for sharing

I'm glad to hear you've been having perfect weather. We had a shocker of a storm yesterday afternoon...the rain was coming in under our pergola at almost a horizontal slant, the winds were that bad. At least it cooled things down a bit for us.

Those little pouches are so cute!

Now, I'm off to read all about Bob...thanks for the links.

Btw, the sunset sky was a lovely way to end your post.

Love,
Serena xo

At first I thought the cat was BOB. Then I realized it was JINGLES. Then I read about the real BOB.
Thanks for sharing his story, Tammy. Truly inspiring!

Happy Valentines Day my sweet friend. I hope it's full of chocolate and kisses!

Dearest Tammy,

Great story about Bob and his crocheting for a cause. His last name is typical Dutch. It is a blessing if anyone can create with his/her hands and giving away gifts from the heart!
Wishing you a Happy Valentine's Day, one that will spill over onto all 365 days of the year.
Love to you,

Mariette

Oh, Tammy.... what great photos of Jingles! He is soooo cute! And all that gorgeous food too! Those donuts with the chocolate glaze and chopped pecans are making me so hungry right now. Yum! The peanut butter chocolate chip cookies are pretty tempting too.

Happy Valentines' Day to you, your family and the kitties!

Sharon :-)
