Monday Blues, Blessings and a Helping Hand

I hope everyone has had a good start to their week. This is our last day of Eid vacation and it has been the busiest one yet. I took Yusef for a haircut this morning. The blues started when I didn't see a large L shaped brick on the passenger side so when I went to park, I scraped the bottom of my car and then it got wedged in front of my back tire. Ugh! Two men came along, lifted my car and pulled it out. There's some damage but what to do. It's only a car; that's what I tell myself. My hairdresser and friend, Kathy, came back from New Mexico a couple of weeks ago and today gave me a bracelet and this cute chilli pepper ornament. (She said they would help me to feel better about the car :)

I also snapped two pictures of ornaments she has on her Christmas tree. I just thought they were so pretty and unique; and they were also brought back from New Mexico.

While she was cutting Yusef's hair, I crocheted, and finished this that I started yesterday.

Next on the to-do list was grocery shopping and then home to make fudge.

At 2 pm, the kids and I were off to my friend Sheryll's for an Operation Hope winter bag packing. 43 volunteers showed up to man 3 tables and pack 1500 bags with longjohns and a long-sleeved undershirt; a pair of socks, gloves and a ski cap. It took us one hour to accomplish the task. "Many hands make light work."

My final to-do for the day was to bake Mexican Wedding Cookies (a/k/a Russian Teacakes or Sandtarts -- this cookie has many names). I did two batches so rolled over 100 cookies. I then bagged them up and tied them up like a little parcel in my crocheted hot pads. The fudge was wrapped up in wax paper and tied with yarn. Everything was delivered to Sheryll by 6:45 pm for the British Ladies Society Festive Bazaar tomorrow afternoon. (And yes, I will be going there straight from school.)

I appreciate you stopping by and wish you a wonderful day. Peace & blessings, Tammy

Uff, I also know those "brick-problems" in this or another way ... But you are right, it's only a car and you got help from strong men! I hope the wonderful gifts of your friend could really make you forget the damage. Oh, yes, and you really have been very busy! crocheting and fudge-making and .... pfff, really a lot to do!
Hugs, Traude

I did my bill paying today and wrapped gifts so they will be ready for Naomi,Molly and Mike.

You amaze me with your ability to get so much done in a day! I need to take some lessons from you. I have good intentions of getting things done....my intentions just don't seem to turn into action.
The fudge looked yummy!!
Have a great week.

Your busy day sounds like my busy days last week. Amazing how much you can get done in a day. Your car incident sounds like a pain, but what can you do!! The rest of your day sounds really nice. The bracelet from Kathy is gorgous, and the ornament is like many I have seen in San Antonio. HA! Your hour at Sheryl's looks not only productive, but wonderfully gratifying. Really nice to see people coming together. Have a cookie for me. They look fantastic!!

Love,
Renee

You've had such a busy day!!! I'm so sorry about the car, I get very depressed about things like that and also have to remind myself - "it's just a car". I hope everything will be well.

You are such a blessing and an encouragement. ♥

Hi, Tammy,
You have been a very busy gal!! I am sorry about your car. I am one to run over any curb if it is within any distance of my car. I get mad at myself but the next thing I know I am running over a curb again!!! Not good for the tires either. I loved seeing the beautiful bracelet and ornaments from NM. You know NM is where I grew up so they are making me a little homesick. I hope you have a lovely week, dear friend! Vicki

What a full post! Love that fun bracelet and I'm drooling over the fudge. Sounds like a great project you were involved in, packing warm things to wear for those who need them.
