Sunday Salutations and Saturday Celebrations

I hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween!

Yesterday a group of us met at Second Cup to celebrate our friend's birthday (which is actually today).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELENA! Melissa and I made her scrappy birthday cards.

She received many pink and pretty gifts. (I missed Pink Saturday due to a traffic jam on the internet highway.) This is a cross-stitching I did for her in a nice hot pink frame.

I baked yesterday afternoon -- peanut butter cookies, lemon muffins, Mexican Wedding Cookies, and cranberry scones. These will go to Operation Hope for their bake sale tomorrow morning.

A quote to welcome the first of November:
"I like spring, but it is too young. I like summer, but it is too proud. So I like best of all autumn, because its tone is mellower, its colours are richer, and it is tinged with a little sorrow. Its golden richness speaks not of the innocence of spring, nor the power of summer, but of the mellowness and kindly wisdom of approaching age. It knows the limitations of life and its content."
- Lin Yutang

Wish I had a view like that! Hope you are having a great weekend! :) Tammy

Nice to be back after being gone for a few days. How wonderful to get together with Elena for her birthday. I hope you gave her a big birthday hug from me. I miss you guys so much.
Your baking spree looks good enough to eat. I hope Operation Hope makes a ton of money today. I was telling my neighbor about Operation Hope the other day, as she does a lot of volenteering too.

Hope you are having a great Monday!
Love,
Renee

Love celebrating birthday's with friends!
Your homemade treats look great!

Most of the fall color in WI. is gone with all the rain we've had. We just had a few days here and there where the colors were bright.

Dear Tammy, thank you for your nice description of the birthday party. Your scrapcards and the cross-stitching look very good an creative! Hmmmmmm - and the cookies, too!
Thanks for your nice words on my blog! It's funny that you have the same Ikea-Lamp - yes, indeed, the world seems to be small, sometimes. What a pitty that it isn't small enoug to share the REAL red-and-yellow-autumn-few with you... I would like to send a bit of it's smell and temperature and feeling to you; I'm sure you would enjoy it!
Hugs, Traude
