A Finished Object

Many bloggers have been posting about their words for the year.  When I think of 2020, I think of perfect vision (which I literally do not have where eyesight is concerned).
But for the new year, I decided that VISION is jut what the world needs.
And my mantra for the year is:
FOCUS, FOLLOW-THROUGH, FINISH!
So I present to you my first crochet finish of the new year.
A granny square baby blanket with a simple shell border.
It's about 40x40 which is the size of a receiving blanket.

I got the yarn from my craft group friend Mini of MinizDiary who left Kuwait at the end of April last year.  I know that my current craft group friends will be happy to see that I finished as it was a project that I grabbed to take to craft group when I didn't have anything else on the hook, so they've seen it many times over many months.

I've started many granny square blankets in the past with leftover yarn that haven't been finished so have pulled the next one out to do more stashbusting.
Jingles always likes to be close by.
Today is my husband's birthday so instead of a cake, I made vegan cinnamon rolls.  They were super simple and really tasty so definitely will be making them again.
Happy Caturday!

The blanket is beautiful Tammy. I always love the look of a granny square, whether it be one big one or lots of small ones together. They are always beautiful and the colors in your baby blanket are so nice. I like how the white ties it all together.
The cinnamon rolls look delicious. Dennis' birthday is on Thursday and he loves cheesecake so that's what I'll make him. It's not vegan, but it's his favorite! It seems both of our husbands like non-traditional birthday desserts.
Jingles is so beautiful. I miss having a cat on my lap when I knit/crochet. Have a lovely Saturday Tammy.
Blessings,
Betsy

Beautiful blanket Tammy! It does feel good when you finish a big project :)
Tidying up before the holidays I {finally} sorted out my unfinished projects and it is mind blowing to see how many there actually are. So in the new year I will try to finish at least half and not add up new ones to the pile :)

How lovely to start the year with a finish! One of my goals this year is finishing projects - I hope to complete one a month. Some are almost done and need just a few tweaks. It is always so satisfying to finish something. Happy New Year to you all and Happy Birthday to your husband.

Your word and mantra is a very good one, and I feel like I should be applying this to my life. Love the blanket and always great when you are able to finish something that has been on the go for a while. Hope your husband had a happy birthday.
Jingles is the cutest and loved seeing him again.

hugs

Beautiful blanket! Those colors are so pretty! I should have made one like that. I am doing one that is taking forever! It produces a nice material but is very time consuming and makes my hand cramp up after a while so I have to put it down.
The rolls look mighty tasty! Jingles is looking good and I hope Sam had a happy birthday.

Vegan Cinnamon Rolls sound healthy (as long as they are not too sugary)! Would you be so kind to share the recipe? I am always looking for non-dairy recipes. Someone in my family has recently become vegetarian so any new ideas are most welcome while I try to adjust my menu planning.

Well done on the blanket! I love your words for 2020. You are not wrong about VISION. I am so frustrated by politicians who cannot plan anything past the next election cycle when we need to be planning for future generations.
