Storm Predictions

Last night we went to bed with the news that parts of Saudi Arabia were experiencing heavy rains and flooding.  There were also predictions that the storms would be heading our way, but so far all is quiet.
After all the talk of storms, I was surprised to see the sun this morning in such a beautiful shade of red.
 Lots of clouds.
 But so far no rain.
They are saying we should expect some in the early morning hours.
A light rain is okay. But this country is not prepared for heavy rains.
This day passed all too quickly and now it is time to follow Jingles lead.
Goodnight everyone!

Stay safe if the storms do come. We are under a storm watch here in Ohio for the day. it is very dark. We can take the rain but not a power outage. Good luck.

It is Sunday afternoon here right now and we've had horrible storms all day. I have some big tree branches on my patio from my neighbor's tree, but that's no big deal...just 3 hours south of us, a tornado hit and devastated an entire little town.

Gorgeous red sun photo, Tammy. Made me think of this childhood jingle:

Red sky at night, sailors' delight.
Red sky in morning, sailors' take warning!

Hope all is well, weather-wise and other wise. Susan

Jingles has it down pat! We have had cloudy rainy skies all day--a nice way to wind down a weekend. We need rain just like we need sun, I guess. Sleep tight.

Do you think it was the full moon? We had storms last night and there were terrible storms across parts of the U.S. today with several people killed and houses destroyed. I was watching my fav football team when they had to leave the field and the people had to leave the stadium because of severe weather. Quite a day for some! I was up in the night with the storm as the winds and rain were horrific but all was well this morning just a chair knocked over outside. Sleep tight and safely.

Please stay safe. I've been concerned for our grandson away at college as a tornado touched down 30 miles from his college. That's to close for Grandma ....lots of prayers.

There is an old saying: Red sky at night, a sailor's delight. Red sky in morning, sailor's take warning. Don't know how true it is... but, I always think of it with a red sky. ;) Glad Jingles is getting some good rest (after those taunting birds the other day). ;) blessings ~ tanna

Well, we had the storm of all storms this time, Tammy here in central Illinois. Our neighboring community of Gifford, Illinois was badly destroyed and this time it's personal - many classmates of Sarah's lost their homes and our dearest, oldest friends (like family) lost their entire homestead in the country (just 3 miles southeast of our home) as did many other farmhomes along the tornado's destructive path. I've spent the past 2 days, including my birthday yesterday, helping salvage and clean up. Thankfully, they were able to salvage a bunch of personal items, but it's a total rebuild of course. Such an odd time of year for us to have this kind of weather here and I know friends at 3 different parts of Illinois that were all affected by tornados on Sunday afternoon. So nutty.

Hope you are having a good new week.
Linda
