Happy International Philosophy Day

Q8 Books is a secondhand bookstore that recently reopened under new ownership at the end of September.  I have been wanting to check it out and finally was able to stop in this evening.
Such a cozy and inviting place.  The books are neatly arranged and there are lots of comfortable seating areas.  The space definitely says "come and stay awhile".
Turns out that today is International Philosophy Day so we were asked to write down our philosophy in life.
Kinda hard to think on the spot so I just wrote down what I try to do each and every day.
I was very happy to come home with a cross-stitch book and one entitled Living in Sri Lanka.
along with two bookmarks written in Arabic calligraphy. The top one, no one seems to be able to read, not even my husband.  The bottom one translates as "my page".
It's always lovely to find something new and unique.  I will definitely be going back often.
Hope your day is going well.

I also like your new bookmarks and the cross stitch book too. Used bookstores are one of my favorite places to visit. I always come home with a treasure or two.
Blessings,
Betsy

I love your philosophy and I try to do that each day also. The bookstore is awesome...they are my favorite places to hang out...unfortunately there are none here. I have so many books of my own though it's not a problem! LOL!
Happy Philosophy Day!

Isn't that calligraphy enchanting! My eyes follow the strokes, and my breath seems to travel right along with the motion. Magical!

The bookstore looks exactly right - so glad you've got a "new" place to search for treasures and enjoy a ponder. And what a lovely philosophy - no wonder you are a friend to so many :)

What fun to find a new shop! I have books all over my house, but seem to only read the ones I buy on my iPad. :-) Enjoy your weekend!

Dearest Tammy,
Any books, second hand or not are such a valuable tool for humans. Reading is THE most important thing in life. Wish it would be done a lot more nowadays!
You wrote down your philosophy straight from the heart!
Hugs,
Mariette

Bookshops are my kind of haven! It's lovely to have something like this nearby. A hot cup of herbal tea along with a book on one of the sofas looks like a lovely way to spend the morning!
