Proposed Projects

After my visit to the women's shelter on Saturday I stopped by the craft store for more yarn.  We had discussed teaching the ladies how to crochet dishcloths, but I'm not sure those would sell well and the cotton would be expensive.  Instead, I have proposed the little Christmas stocking (pattern from Le monde de Sucrette) and the Christmas Wreath Ring Ornament (pattern from Whiskers & Wool).  Both are simple projects that hopefully the ladies can learn quickly and hopefully will sell at upcoming holiday bazaars.

I haven't made either since last year so will have to whip a few up for practice purposes before going back to the shelter.

Wishing you a great new week!

I just knew you would come up with some great ideas for the women. I love the idea of the Christmas ornaments. It is the perfect time of year and hopefully they will be quick learners. Good luck on your new project.

What a great idea and, yes, I think the crochet ornaments would be more appealing. Very cute! Sorry if this is a silly question but I was wondering, being that you live in Kuwait, where it is a different culture where traditions are observed such as Ramadan...is the traditional Western-culture Christmas celebrated there in general or by a minority?

That's very good you are socially active... Here in India it's another problem you might be knowing. Many women here are underprivileged or have to be beggars. So I'd like to participate in their lives too, at least to bring some scope of hope...
Thanks for sharing this and I like the idea of Christmas crochet stuff.

I think those look like great projects - even though I am no crocheter. At any rate - they don't look daunting at all! And your yarn colors are so pretty - I love the pale celery green :)

Hi Tammy,
You always make the most lovely things. :)

I haven't been blogging (writing or reading) - there's just too much else going on and I've lost interest but I'll pop in from time to time to see what I'm missing.

Hope your week is wonderful.

Love, Linda

That is wonderful that you will be helping the ladies learn to crochet! And thank you so much for choosing one of my patterns. :) I hope they all sell many things! :)

The little stockings and wreaths will be very good. I think you are right that the dishcloths would not sell well as people just don't appreciate them like they should. We live in such a disposal world. Comforting Crocheting Dear...
