Right on Time

I'm so glad I went out on the balcony this evening to see what Jingles was up to.  It's lizard season now so not a good idea to leave doors open.
I looked to my left and there it was.  The Full Flower Moon. I had forgotten that it would arrive this evening.  According to the Farmer's Almanac, it gets its name because of the abundance of flowers that can be found everywhere during May.
Unfortunately, I do not have an abundance of flowers right now.  Our weather for the past week has been dusty and dreary with white, hazy skies.  But this one little moss rose plant outside my kitchen window continues to give me one tiny little bloom a day.
And believe it or not, tomatoes are ripening like crazy right now.  Hubby brought a bagful home from the mosque he attends.  And our neighbor gave us lettuce and cucumbers, potatoes and parsley.  Needless to say, we've been having lots of salads.  And today I made a very rustic tomato tart using puff pastry squares.
I can't believe the weekend is already over.  Last week was so busy.  Weather woes, internet issues, and just general busyness had me feeling rather blue.  But I am determined to find balance in the coming week.

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.

Hi Tammy! You got great shots of the moon! And how sweet that you get a daily flower from your little plant.

We won't be seeing tomatoes from the garden for some time. It is still a couple of weeks before we can set plants out. The puff pastry tart sounds so nice and summery!

Lizards! I love them! We have little ones and they're so cute but Orphan Annie likes to "hunt" them....thank goodness they're too fast for her and they can climb walls and she can't! LOL! Jingles is right on it! Your moss rose is so pretty and so is your view of the moon. I went out last night because here they've been calling it a "super" moon but it looked the same to me! LOL! It was a beautiful night and so bright with moonlight I could have taken the dogs for a walk without a flashlight.
So wonderful you get fresh foods from your neighbors. I love fresh and especially homegrown.
Your dishes that you just seem to "whip up" always look so fresh and delicious....makes me hungry!
Hope you enjoy your weekend and find some balance too. TTYL!

Good kitty to keep the lizards away, and do you have any snakes where you live?
The super full moon shows itself to us this evening. Can't wait to see it and I may even be inspired to do a painting of it.
I have a few flowers blooming. Just getting started with my garden since we got the fence up, to keep the wildlife from eating it up.
Have a wonderful day and your recipe sounds really good.

We have lizards everywhere, all year long! They are crawling on everything outside, luckily we don't get many in the house. I hope you find balance this week, sometimes it is so hard just to feel happy and relaxed. Take a deep breath and know you have many friends all over the world sending you positive thoughts,
Meredith

I guess it's cats doing what cats do but I sure hope Jingles leaves the lizards alone or misses a lot more than he catches. They're harmless. We sometimes get the occasional lizard or huntsman spider indoors and I carefully cover them with a plastic container, slide a sheet of cardboard underneath so it traps the critter inside. Then I take them outside and release them.

I love your little moss rose plant! The moon pics are lovely!

Yummy tomatoes! I sometimes make up the savoury tarts using puff pastry sheets too. Easy and tasty!

Have a wonderful weekend too ~ xo

Hello sweet friend!
I love seeing photos from your side of the world. The full moon last night and tonight is supposed to be a "supermoon"....the biggest full moon of the year. I missed it last night but won't miss it tonight!

Hope your "blue days" will pass soon and you will be your shining self once again.

Big heart hugs

Hi Tammy! I can just imagine the wonderful salads you are having now! The tomatoes in the stores in Vegas are terrible. You are so creative with your cooking too! I'm not the cook, my hubby is. But when you post stuff about your creations I always show him. Sending you more May flowers!

The food looks good, the moss rose is pretty, and I'm happy that you caught the pretty moon. :) I didn't this month because, as you'll see when you visit my blog, we were at dinner in Vandalia, IL when it was rising and by the time we emerged it was hazy.

I'm sorry you don't have an abundance of flowers there. It seems like a very difficult place to live sometimes, although many interesting things.

On the contrary, I do have a huge abundance of flowers - everything is growing well here because of all of the rain we've had in April and now May and the unseasonably warm temperatures. The Peonies opened over the weekend.
