The weather guy says we should get used to the haze (a/k/a dust). He also said that by the weekend, the winds will shift and we will have high humidity.
Outdoor activities are not so appealing (unless you're a cat ... or a bird). Our night time lows are in the 80's.
So while it's hot and hazy outside, what's a girl to do but play with yarn inside.
And make a mug cocoa cake using the microwave instead of the oven.
Mix in microwave safe mug 2-1/2 TBS flour, 2-1/2 TBS sugar, 2 TBS cocoa powder, 1 egg, 1-1/2 TBS vege oil, 2 TBS milk, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/4 tsp vanilla extract and a small pinch of salt. Sprinkle chocolate chips and chopped pecans on top and bake for 2-1/2 to 3 minutes. (Don't overcook or the bottom will become hard and tough.)

Hot and hazy is actually a favorite of mine. Our haze isn't usually dust though, but just humidity. It's only in the 70s today here - a brief reprieve from the hotter weather, but I'm hoping it gets hot and stays hot, since we have a pool and want the water to continue warming up so maybe we could be in there this weekend. :)
I like the items you crocheted. I still can't get over how quickly you put these items together!
Hope you have a good remainder of the week doing what you love best.
Linda
Hi Tammy
I hope that the weather does not stop you from having a beautiful week. We have no haze but its getting a bit warmer here in Southern Cal. Have a great week
xo

your microwave recipe looks like fun - my girls will want to try that! and perfect for a hot day and leaving the oven OFF!
It sound it never stop. So cute Jingle is and you make so much nice works. Well here it's colder then usual so I want some heat *smile*.
Hugs

Your beautiful crocheting will keep that haze outside and allow you sweet cheer inside. Jingles looks quite content. Haze is the word we were supposed to adopt in Los Angeles when it was just truly SMOG!
Be lazy and relax my dear...
Good idea! The cake is just the right size, isn't it? I love the little black item with the red edging. What is that? Great colors. Diane
Dear Tammy
It's cool here now as we're in Autumn and ist June is the official start of our Winter!!
I'm turning my electric blanket on to warm my bed now!
Jingles looks quite contented tho!!
Your crochet bits are lovely.
much love
Shane
Oh, hot, hazy, and humid do not sound too fun!! Love your new creations!! So pretty! xo Heather
It is soon to be hot, humid and more humid here. There is just a touch of less humidity at night, but we are about to be blasted for the next 4 months.
Hugs to you,
Meredith
I seriously, don't know how you do it there. Guess what... it's perfect here in the midwest.....sorry...he-he... it will be hot, humid and steam-ie all too soon. Love your pics today.
Hi Tammy, like here, where sometimes I feel a little frustrated with the powders of the Sahara, and the eternal tropical heat at 92 degrees! are a combination slightly annoying! I like the looks of your beautiful cat, greetings, rose m
Wishing you cool breezes and lazy days spent inside. Definitely going to try this mug cocoa cake!
Have a great week.
Cocoa cake and needlework... not a bad way to spend the day. =D blessings ~ Tanna
I love cozy! It got to 87 here today but the humidity is low and my house stays cool as it's brick but by 3-4 in the afternoon it starts heating up so I have the ac on at night.
Wow, I can't believe how much crocheting you get done. I love your embroidered flowers too!
That is a great idea for a quick dessert and one that won't heat up the kitchen! I can't wait to try it! Thank you!
Glad you are doing something you love, plus baking, Tammy. Good for you. Have a delightful Thursday. Susan
Hi Tammy,
Love the idea of that little cake, just enough for one person.
Jingles looks serene in the heat but me , I would be like you indoors stitching.
Keep cool and carry on,
Hugs, Angela.x
Gosh, your sky is dusty, hope it will clear up soon. And to answer your question, I will shoot an email to you soon, family is coming over from Holland, gotta go, take care Mxx
I wish we had the same kind of climate here! Unfortunately we only have +12 C degrees here now and sky is just full of grey clouds. I want a trpical heat summer! :)
Jingles looks so relaxed and like enjoying life til the fullest.
I hope you are having a great day! :)
Tropical skies where I am, with some rain. Tat mug cake I'm willing to try my hand at.

it is hot and muggy here....wishing it would act more like SPRING! argh! That mug cake looks like something I'll have to try. Today was my last day for the school year...I'm off until August 6th!
Your sky looks alot like ours. We have had bad air for over a week. My son has asthma and was ill last week. Now we have forest fires that adding smoke to the yuck.
We are currently around 105 but is to be in the 90s tomorrow and Sunday.
It's nice to see what you have been up to while I have away. Lots of crochet and chocolate goodness! Excellent stuff Tammy!
Oh great ... I love it when you post a recipe. They usually become my favorites. Keep cool and keep that hook moving, such lovely things you are making.
I really can not image that heat....lucky you are inside! xoxoxo Enjoy your inside fun. xoxo
