Every Other Day

Lately it seems that I am only able to post about every other day.  Yesterday I spent about 8 hours dusting and cleaning and that was mainly in the living room.  As much as I try, I just really, really, really don't like cleaning.  It is definitely not a labor of love.  More like a necessary evil.
I had to make room for the long framed textile piece that I bought at the bazaar held at the KTAA Exhibition over the weekend.  It was made by an Indian lady named Ranju who used camel wool from the Sadu House to knit and crochet a piece that resembled the traditional Sadu weaving.  I also bought a pedestal dish that is woven from plastic bags.  It is made by ladies who are being sheltered by the Salvation Army.
And three crocheted carnations came home with me, too.  Don't they look real?

It was back to school today and despite the haze and clouds, it sure was hot!  A whopping 113 degrees.  Summer has definitely arrived.
I hope you are having a peaceful, restful Sunday in your corner of the world.

Hi Tammy,

Cleaning can be a chore and is always good once it has been done.
Love the pretty carnations and the pedestal dish.
Have a good week and hope you stay cool.

I don't like dusting either - that, and cleaning the tub. The carnations do look real. Have a good day. :)

I am with you about the cleaning, Tammy!! Oh, I hate it... and I try to trick myself into enjoying it... playing Adele and dancing along, but still I'd rather just lilsten to the music. LOL! 113 is definitely a summer hot. Sending you a cool breeze wish... blessings ~ Tanna

I can see that your home is filled with artistic treasures. Those carnations look real! I'm with you on not liking to clean the house, it always needs doing again!

I feel the same about cleaning. LOL And when I bring something new into the house, to find a place for it, once I move one thing, I have to move another, then another, then another. LOL So I try not to do that anymore. I love buying a piece from each place traveled to. Everything has a story in my house and that's what I like. My Sunday has been nice.

Your newly acquired treasures are lovely and will always be such memory pieces of your living in such an amazing place. I don't get much pleasure out of cleaning either but it certainly is nice when all done...yes only to turn around and begin all over again! Jingles looks comfy...heat and all. Wonderful week Tammy...

Dearest Tammy,

Wow, those carnations are BETTER than real ones; they're incredible! Lucky you for snatching them up.
Oh, the cleaning is indeed a necessary evil. In The Netherlands I had somebody do it for me... made sense. Jingles & Co must be laughing at us; they never have to do anything for their room & boarding.
Enjoy the week ahead.
Love,

Mariette

Dear Tammy,
Really cleaning and tidying the house is not that nicer. But necessary. . It's nice to be dealing with them that you love, like embroidery, needlework, reading, gardening .... need to make life simpler ...
Have a nice week

Have to say I am very happily looking forward to winter - today was the first day when the temps dipped down to freezing - it sure was refreshing.

Love your new pieces - those carnations are gorgeous and they won't be wilting in the heat - Enjoy the hanging piece too.

Cute kitty.

Hi Tammy...Bet it was fun shopping for your new treasures. Keep cool. Do you have air conditioning? Sure hope so. I remember the intense heat of the Arizona desert and I did NOT like it one bit. Take care, dear Tammy. Susan

I really don't like cleaning either and therefore, I rarely do it, other than spot cleaning (just the basics). It must work for us, because none of us are rarely ever sick and I say it's because our systems are used to living in a less-than-perfect environment. ;)

I would be frustrated if I couldn't post when I wanted to. Hope your internet issues clear up and that you have a great remainder of the week.

Our summer begins today and I don't know how often I'm going to be posting. I really just want to enjoy the summer months without feeling the need to report in, but I'm not going to promise anything one way or another.

Blessings to you and your family,
Linda

I sure love what came home with you T!!! It looks beautiful on your wall.
I also love the carnations and am guessing that you will have the pattern figured out in no time and be making huge bouquets of your own : )

I can only imagine how you must get tired of the cleaning you have to do after the dust storms come your way.
I hope you are dust free for awhile sweet friend!
hugs from here...

I don't like cleaning either but I like a clean room so what's a girl to do?
Your living room is so pretty and those wall hangings are amazing especially the basket/bowl made of plastic bags? It's beautiful! My little projects are nothing compared to what those crafts people do. Hope you're having a good week. We're heading to the 90's soon or so the weather people say. 113 is HOT!!!!!
